alpha2 Report post Posted March 23, 2018 Just completed another holster. This one for a Glock 19. I use 7/8oz leather. If I could find the slide/frame junction, I'd press a line in there, but I can't find it through that thickness leather. Tips, anyone? The holster looks kinda plain without some additional boning. JLSleather Report post Posted March 23, 2018 I don't really care for that "line" put in there -- always thought it looked a bit ... idunno... desperate? But I like the general design I like to just shove the pistol a tad deeper, so that the horiz stitch line is well defined, then mold the trigger guard under the reinf panel (only)and the 'bump' in the frame. Mattsbagger Report post Posted March 23, 2018 Yep I like minimal boning. That a good looking holster alpha.
Bolt Vanderhuge Report post Posted March 23, 2018 I used a ruler and lined it up with the exposed portion of the gun mold. Then made the line down the holster front.
alpha2 Report post Posted March 23, 2018 Jeff, I'd be surprised if you didn't like the general design! I don't mold in for the ejection port much on Glocks. That sharp edge can be problematic. Thanks for the kind words, and tips, guys! Jeff
JLSleather Report post Posted March 23, 2018 (edited) I haven't had that problem, but fair enough if you 'n' sam did. I was talking about this, not the port ... Bolt's looks good, too, though, so apparently works with or without... Edited March 23, 2018 by JLSleather
ComputerDoctor Report post Posted March 23, 2018 I really like your end results:) Personally, I would use a 'top strap' and snap, that gives me more assurance that the 'piece' won't just 'flop out' when I hit a bump on my motorcycle, when I usually open carry, which is legal in Missouri:) Sam
