Well, after a long hiatus, I got some parts and put the hardware in!  So it is finally finished.  For those that followed my post in "The Eagle has NOT landed..." this is the first figure carving I attempted, back in August of '17 if I remember correctly.

Some things I wasn't happy with, others I really liked.  Comments and suggestions welcome!

I'll try to post a pic of the back...

It looks great.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Excellent! Fine looking eagle, and the rest of it is top notch, too.

well done. that is just terrifying to me to consider ruining that big of a piece of leather

Thank you.  I had an irrational fear of mauling a perfectly fine piece of leather for a long time.  I happened to acquire a large stack of veg tan, helped me get over that quick, as I need to convert it into product!  I have a fair sized pile of rejects tho...

Love the eagle :-)

Your carving looks great.

Thanks!  The eagle was a Craftaid, which helped immeasurably.

So what if it was a Craftaid  ... you did a magnificent job on the tooling.

I hope I can do something even half as good as you have done here.

Kindest regards

Brian

Rockoboy, thanks for that.  Just didn't want anyone misled into thinking I drew it up also!  I'm wondering if I will be able to do as well on my second time around now...

Very nice!! The feather on the back is wonderful--continues the design and theme without duplicating the  front. And beautifully detailed.

Making some progress...:)

Thank you.  I contemplated way too long on what to put on the back before settling on the feather - no Craftaid there, I drew that one up.  I am glad you liked it!

I love that when you turn it over there is a little treat. It just makes the whole thing more complete, more satisfying.

Thanks!  I am too at times when I look at it, not sure I actually did that or not...

Beautiful eagle! I really like that pattern and it has been a best seller for me.

I might need to steal the feather on the back idea.
