Members YinTx Posted March 28, 2018 Members Report Posted March 28, 2018 Well, after a long hiatus, I got some parts and put the hardware in! So it is finally finished. For those that followed my post in "The Eagle has NOT landed..." this is the first figure carving I attempted, back in August of '17 if I remember correctly. Some things I wasn't happy with, others I really liked. Comments and suggestions welcome! I'll try to post a pic of the back... bikermutt07 Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 It looks great. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members Double Daddy Posted March 28, 2018 Members Report Posted March 28, 2018 Beautimous! Really nice work... Quote Have a great day! Chris

alpha2 Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Excellent! Fine looking eagle, and the rest of it is top notch, too. Jeff Quote So much leather...so little time.

I had an irrational fear of mauling a perfectly fine piece of leather for a long time. I happened to acquire a large stack of veg tan, helped me get over that quick, as I need to convert it into product! I have a fair sized pile of rejects tho... So what if it was a Craftaid ... you did a magnificent job on the tooling. I hope I can do something even half as good as you have done here. I'm wondering if I will be able to do as well on my second time around now... Members JMixx Posted March 30, 2018 Members Report Posted March 30, 2018 Very nice!! The feather on the back is wonderful--continues the design and theme without duplicating the front. And beautifully detailed. Quote Making some progress... "Happiness hoarded is diminished."

I contemplated way too long on what to put on the back before settling on the feather - no Craftaid there, I drew that one up. I am glad you liked it! Members Sceaden Posted October 14, 2018 Members Report Posted October 14, 2018 Beautiful eagle! I really like that pattern and it has been a best seller for me. I might need to steal the feather on the back idea. Quote
