rdb Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Well, this is my messy shop. I only get half of the 500 sq, ft, the wife uses the other for her fused glass. My half is still mostly woodwork/carpentry tools which, i have to build a new shed for, before I can really fix the shop up for leather.

Randyc Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Elton You have a nice shop there! I really enjoy seeing photos of everyones shops. I also enjoy seeing how some craftsman with very little extra room, build themselves nice compact work areas. Randy
JustWakinUp Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I've saved some pictures of my shop nice and clean just for posts like this one. Since the photos though there is alot more mess, alot more leather hanging around and wayyyyy more stains on the floor. Oh the computer table is now caddy corner so I can reach it from either the stamp table, or the stain/cut table. Anyway, here's a few shots.

calanneh Report post Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) Ok, NO picking on me for not cleaning up.... Can we pick on ya for the pink curtains in the ironing board pic?!?!?!? My 'shop' is the corner of the living room right now. The wife forces me to hide my toys...i mean, tools when we have people coming over, but until I can get everybody elses stuff outa my garage all I get is a corner and few end tables to hide everything in!!! LOL I'll wait til I have it all spread out and a bit messy before I take a pic...that usually happens when she is outta the house for several hours and or my 'leather minions' come over to work on their stuff too. hehehe William Edited October 27, 2008 by calanneh
Go2Tex Report post Posted October 27, 2008 So, here's my dream shop..... 24x24 metal building, framed in and insulated with bat insulation and then OSB panels to cover it up and give me infinite nailing options for whatever I decide to hang or attach to it. The main feature is the 2 4x8 layout tables with room to walk around them so I can get around to lay out my patterns. I can lay out 2 sides of leather at once. Plus, I have a couple of nice big windows to let in light and also to watch the deer cross through the property. Lots of lights and room to store stuff. Still not completed. Got a few inches of wall space left to put up some shelves and work spaces. Have a lookie.........
bebah Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Geeeeeeez ! I'm impressed. Great workshops. Well organized and look very functional. I'm sure I speak for a host of us out here that are envious of the excellent workspaces you have created. No wonder I can't get anything accomplished. Spend more time looking for tools than using them. Anybody hire out to organize ? Thanks for sharing. You really have been an inspiration. My shop is still in the planning stage. About 5 years of planning and procrastination. Soon.
Elton Joorisity Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Randy, It's definitely a tight fit for everything. Luckily with being a carpenter I have been able to scavenge some used cabinets! My 4X 8 table sits on two of the cabinets I have helped myself to. There's more stuff that I couldn't fit into the pics such as another set of shelves and my tree and skirting leather storage. Hey Brent, you wanna come set up a shop just like that for me?? I had planned to build one the same size and pretty much the same layout but life's curcumstances cancelled that idea.
