Members Nessmuk1 Posted December 20, 2018 Members Report Posted December 20, 2018 Will a machine sew when reversing the motor? Also, if so, do any of the motors have remote reversing? Quote
Members billybopp Posted December 21, 2018 Members Report Posted December 21, 2018 A sewing machine will not sew when turning backward. That would reverse the hook, etc and it won't pick up the thread from the needle then. - Bill Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted December 21, 2018 Moderator Report Posted December 21, 2018 Reverse sewing can only be achieved by having a mechanical reverse mechanism built in, or by turning the work around 360 degrees and sewing back through the previous stitch holes. Members dikman Posted December 21, 2018 Members Report Posted December 21, 2018 No. Try sewing by turning the handwheel in the opposite direction to normal and see how far you get! My latest servo has a "change direction" option in the menu, but that's only there to let you mount the motor on the opposite side to "normal". Techsew Ron Posted December 21, 2018 Report Posted December 21, 2018 Some machines require the motor to rotate in the reverse direction, but most machines do not. Quote Techsew Industrial Sewing Machines Call toll-free: 866-415-8223 Visit www.techsew.com
