I have searched everywhere and cannot figure out what this type of purse closure is called. I found something similar on Ohio Travel Bag, but they give no details as to sizing, and the name is just "closure." I'd love to get a couple for some small bags, because they are actually really convenient to operate.

Well, I know what it is called, but good luck finding them to purchase.  They are called "piston clasps" or "piston closures".  Since the one pictured and most of the ones I saw online are marked Gucci, they are likely proprietary.

This type of closure is also used on keyrings.  Maybe there is a keyring that could be adapted for this purpose?

I'm guessing that is a proprietary closure built for Gucci.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

I don't love that it's zinc,

Not sure of the actual metal its made from, but the coating is more likely to be chrome. I think it's too shiny to be zinc.

Kindest regards
