Members SonnyMarrow Posted April 17, 2019 Members Report Posted April 17, 2019 I have searched everywhere and cannot figure out what this type of purse closure is called. I found something similar on Ohio Travel Bag, but they give no details as to sizing, and the name is just "closure." I'd love to get a couple for some small bags, because they are actually really convenient to operate. Quote
Members Tugadude Posted April 17, 2019 Members Report Posted April 17, 2019 Well, I know what it is called, but good luck finding them to purchase. They are called "piston clasps" or "piston closures". Since the one pictured and most of the ones I saw online are marked Gucci, they are likely proprietary. This type of closure is also used on keyrings. Maybe there is a keyring that could be adapted for this purpose? Quote
bikermutt07 Posted April 17, 2019 Report Posted April 17, 2019 I'm guessing that is a proprietary closure built for Gucci. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. Members SonnyMarrow Posted April 17, 2019 Author Members Report Posted April 17, 2019 Thank you for the name! I might try the one from OTB and hope that it's a decent size. I don't love that it's zinc, but it should be good enough. https://ohiotravelbag.com/L-3580/Closure+Nickel Quote
Members blue duck Posted April 17, 2019 Members Report Posted April 17, 2019 Give OTB a call. They will be glad to give you the size. Nice folks. Quote May God Smile on you today.

I think it's too shiny to be zinc.
