Members jimi Posted June 9, 2019 Members Report Posted June 9, 2019 (edited) The machine you are looking for is probably the Singer class 11-35, this was able to sew across and up the arm by changing the parts assigned to this model. 11-8,13,14,16,17,21,23 or later 11-37 is up the arm. I personally think this type is overkill for making boots. Uwe might have one or two laying around his shop?? The one on Ebay says 11-13 and according to this manual it should be up the arm??? http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERPARTS/11-32 11-34 11-35--.pdf One of the smaller models was the Singer 17-10, finding one or the other might be pretty hard. This would be better i think for boot making. http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERPARTS/17-1 - 17-18.pdf Edited June 9, 2019 by jimi Quote

Members Weronika Posted November 5, 2020 Members Report Posted November 5, 2020 This is interesting. I just bought a 1940s Singer 11-17 Transverse seam sewing machine (I'm based in England, UK) . It works fairly well but the cylinder bobbin shuttle keeps ejecting the bobbin out while I sew and it could use a new presser foot. Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts for it? The only thing I seem to be able to source is needles. Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted November 7, 2020 Members Report Posted November 7, 2020 11 parts hard to find. College Sewing? You need a new hook and Presser foot. glenn Quote

Members shoepatcher Posted November 8, 2020 Members Report Posted November 8, 2020 Weronika, Ok A hook is available on Amazon for the 11-3. However, I think it is for the large bobbin. You may have to take your hook out and see about getting it rebuilt. The key is to find out why the bobbin is coming out of the bobbin case. I suspect the locking mechanism for the shuttle in the hook is either worn or broke. There has to be mechanist that can fix it in your area. Machine will not sew with out it. glenn Quote
