Members KenJWan Posted February 23, 2020 Members Report Posted February 23, 2020 So, 10 months ago, I posted my first leather project... a pair of engineer boots. I didn't expect to end up with something I could wear and didn't care about the mistakes in stitching, pattern, etc. However, the end result was something unexpected and so I decided to do it again, this time with better materials, more care, a better pattern, etc. So, here are the results. My engineers, version 2. Brown Horween Chromexel Horsebutt Japanese buckles Neoprene soles with Catspaw heels Unstructured toe Quote

I started online mostly. Did a lot of research. Started getting tips from a local boot maker who I’ve become friends with and now have access to additional equipment. I'm told that my "forefathers" were shoe makers in Germany (actually Prussia at the time). What I wouldn't give to see a sample of their work! Quote

Members erikpet Posted March 21, 2020 Members Report Posted March 21, 2020 Very nice! Would love to see some pics of your process. Like did you use a shoe last for sizing? I have been contemplating making some boots. Also any good links for resources or materials like the soles you used? Quote
Members DrmCa Posted March 21, 2020 Members Report Posted March 21, 2020 Super awesome boots and great attitude! Quote
Members AdamZ Posted March 26, 2020 Members Report Posted March 26, 2020 (edited) As someone new to leather work I am highly impressed. That said, I've been considering trying to make some form of shoes, however all the little projects are keeping me busy for the moment. Edited March 26, 2020 by AdamZ Quote
