Members dikman Posted March 16, 2020 Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 I thought I'd restore my Pfaff 335 to a binder, but where can I get the tape? The only place I've found so far is a local leather supply shop but they want $1.70 per metre for 1" synthetic tape and they only sell by the metre, not bulk. Where do others get their tape from in Oz? Quote Machines wot I have - Singer 51W59; Singer 331K4; Seiko STH-8BLD; Pfaff 335; CB4500. Chinese shoe patcher; Singer 201K (old hand crank)
Members Bert51 Posted March 16, 2020 Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) I have purchased white tape from this seller before, but I thought you might like this colour, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BINDING-TAPE-POLYESTER-25mm-1-FLuro-Pink-HI-VIZ-100-mtrs/133353032331?hash=item1f0c75ca8b:g:wAUAAOSwWgZdAxrD He does have other colours. Bert. PS. He also has Tape Roll Holder for 18 bucks, but want 17 buck to send it, don't do what I did, still waiting to place and order to justify the cost. Members dikman Posted March 16, 2020 Author Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Thanks Bert, I don't think I'll need that colour , just your basic black! Certainly cheaper in bulk. I searched ebay, of course, but sometimes unless you get exactly the right search term things don't always show up. As for the holder, shouldn't be hard to make something suitable. Members Bert51 Posted March 16, 2020 Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 Yeah, that's what I thought, I didn't make to good, but for 18 bucks I think I will buy one next time. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BINDING-TAPE-ROLL-HOLDER-CLAMP-ON-STYLE-AP5/132311645108?hash=item1ece637bb4:g:gGIAAMXQltxQ7I6I:sc:AU_Regular!3630!AU!-1 Bert. Members dikman Posted March 16, 2020 Author Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 I guess it depends what you've got lying around. I have a suitable clamp (off a desk lamp, I think) and only needs a disc - plastic, aluminium, wood etc - so pretty easy. Members TexasCharlie Posted March 16, 2020 Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Sorry, not your subject. But Mr. Dikman may I ask you if your shoe patcher has a walking foot that turns in 360 degrees and has about a 17-inch throat? Edited March 16, 2020 by TexasCharlie Quote

I go through this one a fair bit- https://www.hamlinsacc.com.au/ I made up a feeder by putting a nail through a cake tin lid into a block of wood with a bearing in between. It just sits behind on the sewing table. Members dikman Posted March 16, 2020 Author Members Report Posted March 16, 2020 A nail through a cake tin lid!! Come on, Brian, I expected something a bit more refined from you! TexasCharlie, it's just one of those generic Chinese patchers, there's been quite a few posts about them. Quote Machines wot I have - Singer 51W59; Singer 331K4; Seiko STH-8BLD; Pfaff 335; CB4500. RockyAussie Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 Now yous gone and made me all self conscious ....I'm a going to paint that nail now. You know that, that is a real rust version I got not one of these new paint on versions of it you get nowadays. P.S. I am not going to match the paint with the cake tin lid. Doesn't matter what you say ....it won.t happen. Quote Wild Harry - Australian made leather goodsYouTube Channel Instagram
