Seiko STH-8BLD-3 or Consew 206 RB-5

Which one is better or are they comparable, the Seiko is made in Japan and the Consew is made in China, both come with a table, servo, safety clutch and a speed reducer for $1,400

if it was me and the Seiko states it is made in Japan I would buy the Seiko. Other than that - same machine I´d say. But I´d also consider the dealer reputation and probably driving distance.

Do you know anything about the age and condition of them? I must admit though that I tend to agree with Constabulary (of course, I must admit to some bias as I have a Seiko.).

I thought many famous makes, have products made in China and the far east, I imagine that Consew, and the other big names in leather sewing machines have their own Quality Control experts watching every step in production to ensure country of manufacture does not effect quality

That's not to say that some clones on offer from some Chinese companies may not be built to the same standards
