Force play? Looks like the catcher has his foot on the plate, so out!

Otherwise, he's under the tag, and safe.

I love this work, by the way - umpired for 13 years, and this brings back fond memories.

Thank you JHL.  My childhood friend was one also and he was scary the way he called the strikes.

Baseball wasnt a thing in my Country growing up. Softball was bit tho (Baseball lite) Used to play for a club so in the summer most Saturdays were spent at the softball diamonds playing against other teams. This scene bought back the smell of dubin and leather mitts, warm thin fruit drinks, coach's yelling and the distinct sound of a ball smacking off a bat!.

Thanks for those memories!

The sound of leather on willow this side of the pond is the summer game here.

I live just a few miles from you down here in the flatlands and I'm wondering what inspired the mountains in the background?

It's always a nice treat seeing your creations. Please keep sharing them.

Two young baseball umpires arguing about how to do their job properly. One guy says "I just call them as I see them". Second guy says "I call them as they are".

Old umpire interrupts and says, "Boys, they ain't nothing until I call them".
