BoxerMel Posted October 8, 2021 Report Posted October 8, 2021 This is a gift I made for my brother-in-law. I couldn't find a pattern out there for one like this so I made a pattern for it. This is my third production from that pattern. I think it's my favorite so far. It's 3-4 oz vegtan. I am still a beginner at dyeing and tooling. I hope I can keep this secret from him until Christmas!! Quote Cheers, Melaney
CFM chuck123wapati Posted October 8, 2021 CFM Report Posted October 8, 2021 that is a cool gift idea great tooling Quote Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms. “I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” THE DUKE!
Members YinTx Posted October 8, 2021 Members Report Posted October 8, 2021 I'm impressed you were able to line up the stitches on the dividers with the tooling decoration on the outside so well. I've struggled with that effort myself! YinTx Quote YinTx https://www.instagram.com/lanasia_2017/ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLK6HvLWuZTzjt3MbR0Yhcj_WIQIvchezo
Members Sheilajeanne Posted October 8, 2021 Members Report Posted October 8, 2021 Very nice! How many layers are in the handle/divider section? You did such a nice job of the edge, I can't tell! Quote

I've struggled with that effort myself! YinTx That is why I had to make a pattern!! I would never had tried it without one. Punching all those holes and then lining them up to barge them together was a challenge, as well. But I finally came up with a solution that made that job very easy and I had no problems with any holes not being aligned. I just had to repurpose a few tools. On another note, which I need to start a conversation about, I am not happy with any of my leather punches. There must be quality leather punches out there somewhere!! Quote Cheers, Melaney

Members TonyV Posted October 19, 2021 Members Report Posted October 19, 2021 Real nice! I would be proud to haul homebrew to a party with that. And you got the different beer varieties in the correct glasses! Quote
