Members Cwise35 Posted January 4, 2022 Members Report Posted January 4, 2022 I have a Mach 1 or techsew ga5-1r, was sewing a belt, it missed a couple stitches, should I tighten the spring tension on the foot to hold leather down better? Or is there another adjustment that need tweaking? Quote

But, if that doesn't solve the problem, it could be the needle is too small for the density of the leather and size of the thread. Quote
Members Constabulary Posted January 5, 2022 Members Report Posted January 5, 2022 (edited) needle bar height could be an issue too. Maybe it is set a little bit too high. Edited January 5, 2022 by Constabulary Quote
Members Cwise35 Posted January 6, 2022 Author Members Report Posted January 6, 2022 Okay thanks for the replies, I’ll start with the foot pressure, I kinda thought it picked the foot up too high on the missed stitch, but just bought the machine so still learning about it Quote
Members Cwise35 Posted February 2, 2022 Author Members Report Posted February 2, 2022 Turns out it was the needle size, moved one size bigger and worked like a charm. Here’s the belt I just sewed with it. Quote
Members Dwight Posted February 2, 2022 Members Report Posted February 2, 2022 That's a good looking belt . . . way above my skill level. May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members AzShooter Posted February 2, 2022 Members Report Posted February 2, 2022 Most excellent belt. Good luck with your machine, your talent is great. Quote
