    Looking for technicians who work on Fortuna Splitter and Hydraulic Clicker Press

    Hello, I am currently looking for an individual/company who work on Fortuna UA band knife splitting machine, as well as someone who works on hydraulic clicker presses. I live in middle TN and am just trying to have all my ducks in a row if something goes wrong with either of these machines in the future. Please let me know if you know of anyone/company preferably local, but out of state would be ok, the last person we had we came down from St. Louis and unfortunately I cannot find his contact info.     Need help with USM Model B clicker press

    HI, I purchased a USM clicker press in fine working condition a few years ago. The seller lowered the swing arm to the table for transport. I wasn't there to see the process. Now I'm in the process of putting the machine into service, and I can't figure out how to raise the swing arm, prior to starting the machine. During storage there is some slight corrosion on the the vertical column. Thanks in advance Ragnar

    This is a followup to my topic "Airbrushing" for dying leather with a short video of my setup at the end of this long post. The video was done setup on my deep-freezer just for ease. Airbrushing has a natural pocket emptying progression just like sewing machines. Get a Airbrush and a Compressor it'll be easy but what about where to actually do the airbrushing??? The great outdoors when it's + 30 C or - 30 C or the comfort of your leather room, basement, etc. That leads to dealing with any unwanted fumes contaminating the area or dealing with possible over-spray landing on other projects / tools / leather.     I bought this skiver used and it did work for a while but since I moved it seems to be jammed the belt on the outside was loose soI tighten it up now nothing is moving.

    Vibration skiving machine

    Ciao a tutti, ho acquistato da poco una scarnitrice usata (Sagitta sc75A). Ho notato subito che la campana della lama vibra molto, tanto da compromettere l'affilatura. Ho contattato quindi il mio meccanico di fiducia e pensando di risolvere ho fatto cambiare tutti i cuscinetti, purtroppo non ho risolto e rimane una leggerissima vibrazione. Il rumore è sparito, i vecchi cuscinetti erano rovinati ma purtroppo non ho risolto completamente. Cosa mi sfugge? O cosa sto sbagliando?     New Skiving Machine

    So I've never worked with leather before but have made bags for around four years with vinyl. My leather bundle has arrived today and my new skiving machine is due with me in two days. It is a Krafft 801. Any tips etc on how to use it for a newbie. Tips, tricks etc - stumbling blocks to try to avoid. Thanks all

    Fortuna Leather Splitter not turning on.

    Hello Today my skiver decided to literally scream at me and shut off. She still gets power but will not turn on. I don’t have a manual and it’s such an old machine I can’t find much info online. Has anyone had this issue? I appreciate any help you can give me. It’s a Fortuna HIGH PRECISION BAND KNIFE SPLITTING MACHINE Thank you Morgan

    Beeswax on clicker dies

    I was watching a YT video and noticed the guy put something on his clicker die real quick and throw it back in the tray. It looked like a bar of beeswax. So I tried it on some leather that I couldn’t cut with my 1 ton arbor press and it cut it slicker than butter. My question is does anyone else do this?

    The following is long and my experience for dying, oiling leather. My journey to airbrushing and the cost of a small setup not including a spray booth. How I got here: i) Tried the dabber method I could not get consistent results from one piece to another and used to much dye. ii) Tried the dipping method got consistent results just never liked what it done to veg tan leather or the end result. iii) Tried the brushing method getting consistent results were difficult. iv) Tried the continuous spray bottle that women use for misting hair but typically gave a spotty coverage.
