Doing some research into hand crank splitters, I’ve heard of an 8” Landis but haven’t seen anything on the market above 6”. Does anybody have experience with an 8” model from Landis?

I have been trying to figure out how the weaver Master Tool Creaser and Embosser is able to release pressure and lift up to move belt and then put pressure back to where it was and how the gears fit into all this. I would love to see some pictures of how this is done. Thanks

Hi all. I recently purchased a Cobra NP4 skiving machine and received it right before I went out of town. Now that I've had a few days to use the machine, I think there's a problem with the presser foot handle. When I pull the handle down, it stops about half way. If I do this 3-4 times it will then go down once. After that, it's another 3-4 times before I can bring the foot down to skive. A friend with a similar skiver recommended that I lube a few areas, which I have done, with no change. Of possible note is that when I received the machine it was pretty filthy, which I thought was odd. It took a few wipe downs to get it clean. There is also a lot of g…

I'm looking for information on this leather cutter I bought from an old cobbler's estate sale. Is there a special use for it? It has an approximately 34 cm deep throat and 20 mm gap on the jaws. There is a long handle, so it can deliver a lot of cutting force. It has a swivel base that can rotate 360 degrees around and pivot 90 degrees forward or back. The maker logo is so worn I can't make out the name. All info appreciated. Thank you.

Hello everyone, I recently bought my first skiving machine, it's a used machine, a Sagitta SC75A (for which I'm also looking for the manual) I'm new to skiving so I'm asking you if you've encountered problems like mine and could you explain to me how I can solve them? The big problem is that it flakes unevenly with a wavy pattern, not smooth as it should be. Thank you Ps, I'm attaching a photo to help you understand the problem. It's a 2cm wide and very long strip of leather, stripped from 1mm to 0.5mm.

I want to get a bell skiver and was curious if this Amazon bell skiver would work. I’m mainly working with 2/3 oz chrome tan for wallets and bags. https://a.co/d/elqlLas

Hello people, I have gotten myself a bell skiver head, so no table/motor/pedal. I will be getting a servo motor, but would want to use it with an electric pedal with normally/open switch instead of the usual sewing machine foot pedal. Reason being that I want to build a desktop unit to be stored when not in use. Would it be possible to wire such a pedal into the servo motor control unit instead of the speed control? The machine would essentially be off or run at a set speed.

I purchased this skiver 20 years ago and am now just putting it into use in my shop. I found the Catalogue and Price List of Parts but am looking to see if there is an operating manual available or has any knowledge of this machine. Obviously needs to be cleaned up which I plan to do. All parts are moving freely despite any obvious corrosion. Bell knife has section of surface rilusrlt on the portion that was facing the presser foot while in storage and hopefully I can just clean that up. Blade edge looks fine. Any help or hints greatly appreciated.

I don't know the correct name of this part in english but I need to replace it and I can't find anybody that sells it in my country so I'm looking to buy it online from the US, europe or china. can't google it because I don't know how it's called. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380810963466 This is what I've found but I need number 5, not 7.
