This is a great place to post pics your latest work. Please understand that as the threads get older, we're going to move the topics to the area they "fit", for example, bikes or holsters, just to keep this section manageable, and help the newer folks find lots of pics of the subjects they are interested in. If I have moved your post to the wrong area, please TELL me so I can fix it. Please don't be upset when I move an older post- it actually helps more people to find it. It also helps when we use descriptive titles. "Recent Projects" isn't as likely to get clicks as "Harley Saddlebags and Seat" or "Civil War Holster and Belt". To post your pics, use the "browse" …

OK, so I started a few days ago with pre-cutting and wet moulding a couple of pieces but the build of this bag started this morning about 8ish (its December 25th). A bit over 12 hours work later and... I figure there is still some burnishing to do when I get some daylight but I'm pretty happy with the outcome and it sure as heck beats the traditional activity of trying to set a new personal best for carbs consumption. I couldn't get a photo of the inside because it just looked like a black hole but it's a single compartment in unlined bridle hide. The style is very much like an offering on Tool & Hide's website (Canadian bag maker) but a…

A friend ordered this guitar strap as a Christmas present for his son. I don't do a lot of floral tooling so it took some time. I vow to practice more in the coming year. A pre-news year's resolution. Randy

made a leather card holder for a friend for christmas, different to what was going to do. leather did not want to allow me to transfer image, even when I tried cutting into leather was hard to see the lines with the fuzz part so just make outline stincel traced out before adding all the detailing in by hand.

Made this for one of my wife’s coworkers. 2/3 oz. W&C. outside cover. The inside is some 1.5 mm veg tan from Frogjelly leather. All handstitched with .6 mm Tiger thread. Except the ID window.

Finished a second mousepad that's been on my to do bench for months. Both backed with 1/8th neoprene for heft and to help it not slide so much. First one I made a few months ago: And the one I just finished (sadly the leather quality is a bit lower) : Finished with a resoline coating. Both were airbrushed with dye by my wife as her first projects. Honestly I think they both turned out really well.

I started a book rebinding project. It's going to be JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion in a clamshell box and after the holidays I'll do a box set of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy. I started by tearing off the paper covers from the text block. I painted the page edges black with white specks. I added a vellum title page, a black silk ribbon, burgundy headbands, and black marbled end pages. For the cover I used 2-3oz vegran goat hide. I gave it 3 coats of Fibing's green Pro dye, .095" binder's board. For the cover art I used gold and holographic heat transfer vinyl (htv). I sealed it all with a few coats of a mix of Resolene …

Wanted to try a building, The Alamo seemed like a good project. It was more difficult than anticipated, larger size would make it easier. The size was 7.5 x 10, seemed big enough when printing the piece, plus it is hard to find a lot bigger piece on a belly. With the price of bellies it gives me more freedom to try and not be afraid of the cost of failure, just have to read the leather for proper moisture content.
