This is a great place to post pics your latest work. Please understand that as the threads get older, we're going to move the topics to the area they "fit", for example, bikes or holsters, just to keep this section manageable, and help the newer folks find lots of pics of the subjects they are interested in. If I have moved your post to the wrong area, please TELL me so I can fix it. Please don't be upset when I move an older post- it actually helps more people to find it. It also helps when we use descriptive titles. "Recent Projects" isn't as likely to get clicks as "Harley Saddlebags and Seat" or "Civil War Holster and Belt". To post your pics, use the "browse" …

Really trying to get better at making holsters, this is my fourth and I think I'm starting to finally be happy with the results. The coloring is intentional with the slight fade, airbrushing the dye on has made it much easier to achieve. I do leave the liner natural other than a resolene coating.

Wanted to try a building, The Alamo seemed like a good project. It was more difficult than anticipated, larger size would make it easier. The size was 7.5 x 10, seemed big enough when printing the piece, plus it is hard to find a lot bigger piece on a belly. With the price of bellies it gives me more freedom to try and not be afraid of the cost of failure, just have to read the leather for proper moisture content.

Hi everyone, I recently completed a saddle pack of Swiss design origin. The horizontal type that just so happens to make a fantastic satchel/briefcase. I’ve been battle testing it in the world for four months and it’s been fantastic. I’ve only made one change to the strap area with the d-rings; changing out the thinner Russian calf for a piece of thick bridle (shown in the pictures with the needles for alignment). I stuck with the traditional materials; bridle, harness, and even a bit of Russian calf here and there. Let’s just say that having to get a working pattern took a lot of time and work. Building it took many, many hours. There are parts of the bag that …

I just submitted my introduction, so I thought it made sense to show some of my projects as well. These are not just leather, but demonstrates how I progressed to leather. I'm just a beginner, so I know these could be improved, which I am continually attempting to do and one of the many reasons that I am here. Jeff

Hello all. I've been gone for a while with traveling and moving houses. Moved two kids from Boise to Big Fork, Montana, then my wife got the bug to move too. Fortunately we didn't have to move all the way to Big Fork, just a better home in Boise. I finally got my new workshop set up, and a friend asked for a knife sheath to go with the knife that she received for Christmas. Gave me a chance to warm up the tools again.

My step-daughter asked for a case to hold her Tarot cards and a crystal. Here's what I came up with.

Got back in the shop after the holidays and finished up The Hobbit rebind. This one is going out to the same friend as The Silmarillion rebind I did here: https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/132484-book-rebind/ This book has the same specs as the last but I added a gold border on the front and back, I think it ties the cover art pretty well. I used holographic htv for the "queer symbol" Gandalf put on Bilbo's door and Smaug's eye on the back cover, which are difficult to see in the pics. The end pages and the book ribbon are earth tones to represent the Hobbits love of growing things in the soil. The page edges are light brown with a dark yellow speckles.

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on improving my leather braiding techniques, especially with kangaroo hide, and recently completed a brown–red 16-plait snake whip. I’m trying to refine tapering, plait symmetry, and handle reinforcement, and thought this community might have some experienced eyes for feedback. I’ve been studying different braiding methods, core building techniques, and how to get the cleanest transitions. If anyone here specializes in whip-making or braiding, I’d really appreciate advice or critique. I’ve shared more of my work and built on my profile as well. Thanks in advance — always learning!

Hey guys, I spent New Year’s Eve on a last practice before my internship at a saddlers workshop. Since I only own dogs and got a new toy (what my friends jokingly call my little leather splitter), I decided to make a flat and a rolled collar. Both were made to measure for my mum’s dog. I’m still waiting on my new creaser, which might arrive tomorrow, so all decorative lines are missing for now. # Italian leather with steel hardware. The blue hide is dead stock and no longer available. I originally bought it for my dog’s new harness, but I had already planned to use some for dog collars. When my mum and I discussed the collar, she mentioned a whol…
