This is a great place to post pics your latest work. Please understand that as the threads get older, we're going to move the topics to the area they "fit", for example, bikes or holsters, just to keep this section manageable, and help the newer folks find lots of pics of the subjects they are interested in. If I have moved your post to the wrong area, please TELL me so I can fix it. Please don't be upset when I move an older post- it actually helps more people to find it. It also helps when we use descriptive titles. "Recent Projects" isn't as likely to get clicks as "Harley Saddlebags and Seat" or "Civil War Holster and Belt". To post your pics, use the "browse" …

The prosthetist told her it could not be done. She shoots wonderfully. As you can see, she can load, unload, and operate this semiauto all by herself. What a great gal. I told her, " Don't bust his balls too much, it's a hundred-year-old technology. LOL

I dunno who else does this, but every so often I get a wild hair and have to do a timed challenge. I call it the 3 hour challenge or the afternoon build. Pick a project thar would normally take 6-8 hours too do, and try to make it in half the time. So far this is my third challenge in the last year. I made a holster for my chest harness, fully tooled and assembled in 3. A carved pancake 1911 holster, lined and stitched but didn't get it dyed in that time window. Did that later to finish it. I'll continue to challenge myself. It helps me develop my time management skills and gives me an idea of what I can accomplish under stress. I need a new belt like I need another…

Coin wrap 1 2

I found a nifty old coin for morse code on the temu site, and grabbed some, mostly because of how I learned something. In movies, I've seen actors send and receive messages over telegraph or other morse codes, but never saw how they did it. Turns out it is the opposite of magic. With this coin (other side has the sending info) and knowing how the code works, this will allow even a novice to decode a message. The code not only works, but is WAY easier to teach/share than I thought. I made a few wraps for them, and will be gifting them to a couple radio nerd friends. I kind of doubt it is an item that would sell well, but I'm still going to have a few made up…

Wanted to try a building, The Alamo seemed like a good project. It was more difficult than anticipated, larger size would make it easier. The size was 7.5 x 10, seemed big enough when printing the piece, plus it is hard to find a lot bigger piece on a belly. With the price of bellies it gives me more freedom to try and not be afraid of the cost of failure, just have to read the leather for proper moisture content.

Well this build was interesting. I had a client meet up and request a "cowboy" style drop holster for a Chiappa Rhino 60DS. Ya the revolver with the barrel in the wrong location. So it started with a phone call. The client explained to me that he had gone into a custom leather shop in town to have the work done, but they don't do holsters. Ok, sounds normal right? But... He wasn't just looking for the holster, but for a compete western rig. *Me in my head: Ya I make that too. But I didn't say anything about it. I just sent him a picture of one of my favorite rigs I've made. I decided to just roll with it. Got him a quote ready and met up in…

This is a birthday present for my girlfriend. It's made of Sedgwick 1900 collection red leather which is a less glossy finish than their bridle hide. its 2.5 - 3 mm thick. Lining is pig suede, all the hardware is brass and its all held together with about 3000 hand stitches. the bag is about 10 inches across by 8" high. The main compartment is 2". The design is similar to one made by Burberry but horseshoe shaped purses are common enough. There is one main compartment, an internal front slip pocket and an external rear slip pocket, all suede lined. The fastener is a Chinese made alternative to a Loxx fastener and, having used both, I consider these solid brass ones t…
