  1. Yes, that is the Colonel. Most of his stuff is Buffalo now. I kinda like the look and needs less finish maybe. Their line is a lot less than 20 years ago. They used to sell knives, hats, a bunch of stuff. Not sure it’s all made onsite.
  2. There is a kinda high end online leather place near me. Visited their showroom last month. Had plain valet trays for $60. I think that was their cheapest item. Not a line at the checkout however. Some of the online prices are really crazy.
  3. Every one will pretty much have to be a one off custom anyway. Cartridge size and number, rifle type, pistol or straight grip, lined or not, personalized or not, grommets or holes, border stamped or not. Just trying to get a place to start. I saw some priced on websites $83 and $95 and that is just crazy.
  4. Thanks. I did not line that one because it’s for me. Gonna donate some to a silent charity auction to get some custom orders perhaps. Don’t really need the grommets for function but used them to dress it up. Is a pound sterling like $1.40 now?
  5. What would you get for one of these in your area? Need to sell something. Thanks.
  6. This style might stay put better on a straight stock.
  7. Looks a little long. Stamp it, punch it, put your loops, grommets, dye it, wet mold last if needed. For the straight grip stock you may need a strap around the back to keep it from slipping forward.
  8. Nice. You can also add a sling attached in the buttplate strap if you don’t have sling swivels.
  9. Here is another no stitch firearm project. You could you use rivets instead of the snap but the snap lets you put it on without taking off your belt.
  10. Their are slots cut with a bag punch and laced through. No stitches. I used rivets at ends but not needed. See Dwight’s method below.
  11. Welcome. You might need one of these buttstock cuffs. No stitching.
  12. I sew 2 layers of 10-11 oz veg tanned with 138 thread.
  13. When the lockdowns started I bought enough plain rice and enough dried beans to fill a 5 gallon bucket each. Used up most of the beans, that rice won’t get soft if you boil it all day.
  14. Mine is set up for 138 thread. There is a guy on here named Uwe who has one running 277 thread.
  15. Looks about like my 225 and it stitches right on. Where are you located?
  16. Thank you. Hbound, this is about the same machine.
  17. I had a link to the Navy Singer 111 Manual and it won’t link now. Anybody got a current one?
  18. Here is manual for 225 and 226. https://s3.amazonaws.com/a.teamworksales.com/CONSEW+PDF/CONSEW+NEW/CONSEW+225+INSTRUCTION+MANUAL.pdf
  19. What’s your holiday over there Fred? We had Memorial Day Monday. Helped cook 300 Boston Butts Saturday.
  20. Southern Magnolia. Wish you could smell it.
  21. I am in the JNA area of Tennessee. Just North of Alabama. State Line above Huntsville Al.
  22. The Colt Frontier 44 mag in the Al Stohlman book might be close. I have no idea how to create a digital pattern or I would send you one for a New Model Blackhawk.
  23. I think he said that he could not have either gun in shop. If he wet forms it it might stretch enough anyway. Or just trace 1/2 or so outside the smaller pattern. There outa be a new model Blackhawk pattern floating somewhere. You can make it where the adjustable sights sit above the top of the holster. Another thought. If the same customer wants both holsters, make the Colt holster first and let the customer see if it also fits his Blackhawk. If so, make 2. If not, make a little bigger one.
  24. The New Model Blackhawk will just be a little beefier in frame and cylinder than a SAA. Big adjustable sights vs a groove sight on SAA. Probably 1/2 inch all around extra. Old Model Blackhawk very similar in size to SAA. Colt Army is the Colt Single Action Army, Model P, Model 1873.
