    Sports Holster

Greetings Everyone: I have a new, unused right handed holster for a Colt 1911 compact pistol (3 1/2" bbl). As shown in the snapshot, it has a basketweave front and will fit a belt up to 1 1/2 inches. I was midway through making this when my customer cancelled the order. It has been wet molded, is unlined and has an open bottom to allow any dirt or debris to clear. It is made from 6/7 leather. This holster was created by hand including the sewing. I've enclosed two sets of photos to show it with and without the holster seated. I used a Colt replica pistol for the pattern. Asking $55. which includes ground shipping within the U.S. Thank You,
  5. For a first time attempt, the holster looks very, very good!
  6. This is an 8 3/8" x 6" oval law enforcement badge I designed for the "Downed Officers Memorial Ride" back in 2007. Only one was made for the event. I used a 3 ounce leather for the badge face and added on a 5 ounce leather for the backing support. I then saddle stitched them together completed with a smooth edge coating. Asking $55. which includes ground shipping fees.
  7. Greetings: Many thanks for your reply to the badge. I don't know if anyone has made these for the commercial market . . . yet. It would be a good idea though. I made three others (each in a different badge style) but forgot to take a snaphot of 'em before I sold them. I visited your website and really enjoyed the quality items you make. Keep up the great work! Lil Rays Thanks Luke, Many thanks Josh. I visited your website and found it very well organized and really like the custom products you design. Lil Rays
  8. Hello: For the support ride lettering, I used a machinist stamping set that used for metal or wood. The set came with a click punch holder which works well with thicker leather and give just enough impression with the letters and numbers. I purchased one on ebay for a few bucks and has been very useful in smaller or tight areas. Many thanks Joe.
  9. Great job on the color and design! You added a unique look. Lil Rays
  10. Greetings Everyone: This is a sports holster I made with a clip on backing for a 1 3/4" belt. As shown in the photo, I raised the back portion to protect the shooters clothing. I found this "different pattern" in a ladies lingerie catalog and thought it might be interesting to carve it onto a holster front. Hope you enjoy the pic. Lil Rays

  16. This is an 8 3/8" x 6" design of a law enforcement badge I designed for the "Downed Officers Memorial Ride" back in 2007. This is an annual event that's held in the Santa Clarita area of Southern California each year. I found this badge shape in a police supply catalog and thought it would be something different to try. I used a 3/4 ounce leather for the badge face and added on a 5/6 ounce leather for the backing support. I then saddle stitched them together. Hope you enjoy the pic. Happy Carving to All! Lilrays

  21. Hello: I don't know if this was suggested but airsoft pistols may be helpful since many are the exact size and shape of the handgun you're making. I had bought a few to aid me when I couldn't get hold of the customers actual pistol. When I would buy one, I made sure to check the photo of the actual firearm to ensure that what I'm buying is the right one then I would try to buy it in person to get a close up look. Hope this helps . . . lilrays
