I just finished tooling a celtic pattern on a wallet . I was wondering if I could paint the celtic weave with a Eco Flo cova color paint and then still dye it with a tan gel antique? Is this ok to do? If not how would I go about doing this the right way?

What weight leather should I use for dog collars? I am going to stamp and tool on the collars. And Where is the best place to buy leather for this purpose.

What do you mean by putting water on the ends all around, and what does this do? Im not sure if I dare to go to bed, bath, and beyond my wife would probably put us in the poor house!

Thats exactly what my cuts are doing. I will definately put a small piece of practice leather in with my project leather next time. That is a great idea thanks a bunch.

If my leather is too wet what will happen to my swivel knife cuts? I cased my leather overnight in a ziploc bag. I pulled it out and let it sit for about an hour or so. I think maybe I did not have enough patience. Somebody please help before I ruin the whole wallet back.

I was wondering if any has used Crown tools from siegel? If so are they better than craftools?

When stamping a basketweave, do you put the border on first or after the basketweave?

I also have a few of those pre lettered tools. I inherited mine from my grandfather, who has since passed. I too would like to know how old they are.

I have another question. When making a wallet do you glue your leather to a piece of cardboard after you case or before you case? This will prevent shrinkage right?

Looks great. My first project was a checkbook cover with that exact pattern, but it did not look even close to as nice as yours.

I received my new Barry King swivel knife and two different blades. I am very happy with the performance, it beats the cheap ones from Tandy.

Thanks for the advice. I soaked the leather with honing oil, and it helped out alot. The jewelers rouge was some I bought from Tandy.

Thanks Marlon, I have been practicing the swivel knife excercises from LCSJ. I definately have alot of learning left to do. Do you or anybody else have any good practice tips that would improve my skill? Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

How do you make a cirlce cut with a swivel knife? Do you make a complete circle cut or do you cut half of it and turn the leather and cut the other half?

Should I wash off all of the rouge then put the honing oil on?
