  1. Some say the world will end in fire,

    Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

    Is also great

    And would suffice.

  9. I have yet to complete a saddle but I am headed that way. Collecting the bits and pieces. I am estimating that there will be about $1000 in materials with me buying everything retail. This doesn't include a labour estimate. I don't even think about it in economics terms because for me it will be about proving to myself I could make one and the pride and art in doing it. Good question I am afraid to see what the answer will be. Just now i thought of other costs for me that are associated with building.

  14. Welcome to the LW forum Jim! With winter hitting hard here in the Northern Hemisphere your life sounds like paradise. There is a Topic header down below that has probably all the information you need on the chaps and chinks. As always you will find more than enough friendly help and guidance from fellow working cowboys ( and cowgirls! ) that are great leatherworkers too in making whatever you want and getting you headed down the right trail. Tim

  17. I got the Harbor Freight air brush too and I like it. I only use it for dyes. That being said I still haven't perfected such a beautiful "sunburst" patten like Mike's! Nice work Mike!
  18. Now, "Dude" - there's a name no man would self-apply where I come from. But then there was a lot about the Dude that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And a lot about where he lived, likewise. But then again, maybe that's why I found the place so darned interestin'. See, they call Los Angeles the "City Of Angels"; but I didn't find it to be that, exactly.

  22. Brown and agile child, the sun which forms the fruit

And ripens the grain and twists the seaweed

Has made your happy body and your luminous eyes

And given your mouth the smile of water.

My somber heart seeks you always

I love your happy body, your rich, soft voice.

    Dusky butterfly, sweet and sure

Like the wheat field, the sun, the poppy, and the water.

  23. I love the F.O. vibe it is an aesthetic that is timeless. Super clean man beautiful work as always. I made a small ladies purse using a pommel bag pattern that came out nice but no where near as classy as this. I think the idea of re-interpreting The saddle bag etal for the street is awesome.
