  1. I did eat the cake but thankfully over the years I have built up an immunity.

It needed milk. Just saying. Chocolate cake that good needs a icy glass of milk. YUM. Thank you.

  2. You held back on the cake kettle. Don't look at that link it is probably a Rickroll!

  3. What? Where the heck was the cake?

  4. Darkness warshed over the Dude - darker'n a black steer's tookus on a moonless prairie night. There was no bottom.

  5. No Alanis it isn't ironic to find a turd in your punch bowl. Apparently that is just life.

  12. Lighting the good fortune votives and bottle rockets for you! Stay calm keep your cool and kick a$$!
  13. It really all about the mass. I have used an old surface plate at my work during lunch hour for stamping. Six or eight inches thick and nothing moves it. It. Is. Awesome! At home I have the common 1-1/2" 12 x 12 granite it is okay and it got better when i made a more solid (read substantial ) workbench. I know that our local Habitat for Humanity chapter has a ReUse store that sells donated items that we can't use on our homes. They had some Granite sink cutouts for $35. I thought that might make a nice larger work area with the right supporting structure. From my experience I had using the surface plate it is all about having zero reaction when you hit the stamp. I guess I should have stuck to my short answer and say that I agree with Luke. Sorry for the lengthy reply.
  14. Bryan that is a complement of the highest order, Burton is one of my film idols! Thanks! Tim
  15. Beautiful! I need to sketch more, the practice would do me a world of good.
  16. Well the class was fun and I enjoyed the camaraderie. A pleasant afternoon. Also a humbling afternoon. There were some really nice ones completed but I didn't take any pictures of other peoples work. Too shy to ask I guess, so you will have to look at mine! I did take pictures all the way through the process so I can give it a try again and I won't forget the steps.
  17. Thanks Luke Josh jumped in and showed me the way to a hat stretcher.

  18. Mike, I have made a few knives and I use these suppliers for various parts. Texas knifemaker supply Jantz Supply and Woodworker source for interesting woods. These Rose blades went on kinda like a file handle goes on a file with the ferrule keeping everything together. Drill, dry fit, shape, inlay the ferrule and then use the two part epoxy (at your discretion ) should give you a strong handle. I use the two part and I have never had a handle come off. Good luck. It sure is a nice find and such a bargain! Be sure to post a picture when your done I too am interested in seeing it finished.
