    I am pretty sure after looking closely at the pictures this is the same knife. Moving my reply to a new thread so as to not hijack this one any further.

    The Swivel Master is a patented and Copyrighted item. If this is not a Swivel master than the maker of this encroached on a US Patent. I would not want to enable that kind of behaviour. I have been busy however in my machine shop and made my own version for my use only... pictures to follow.
  3. Happy Birthday again and just a quick question. Will you be coming to Wikenburg?

    Hair Blade

    LOL I see someone else beat me to it. I have a spare swivel knife that I put the "hair tool" blades into. Does anyone remember or have the "Swivel Master" swivel knife? it had 12 #16 exacto knife blades in it and was or is the best hair tool ever! I wish I had bought one when I had the chance. Something else I will have to make I guess.
  7. Stainless steel differs from carbon steel by the amount of chromium present. Carbon steel rusts when exposed to air and moisture. This iron oxide film (the rust) is active and accelerates corrosion by forming more iron oxide. Stainless steels have sufficient amounts of chromium present so that a passive film of chromium oxide forms which prevents further surface corrosion and blocks corrosion from spreading into the metal's internal structure. For further reading to better understand just what exactly stainless steel is the Wiki article is a good starting point.
  8. See! the mountains kiss high heaven,

    And the waves clasp one another;

    No sister flower would be forgiven

    If it disdained its brother;

    And the sunlight clasps the earth,

    And the moonbeams kiss the sea: -

    What are all these kissings worth,

    If thou kiss not me?

  9. I may dabble a little in it... Mr Tom Banwell however is the preeminent master of things steampunk.
  10. Donnie here is a link to an article about finishing edges that makes all the difference in the quality of your finished edge. I have made my own burnishers and tried different material/ processes but until I tried Mr Bob Parks method I was just getting close to a perfect edge. Canvas and a bone folder is all i need now.

  15. Next to the sea in the autumn,

    your laughter must raise

    its foamy cascade,

    and in the spring, love,

    I want your laughter like

    the flower I was waiting for,

    the blue flower, the rose

    of my echoing country.

  16. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.

    I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;

    So I love you because I know no other way

    than this: where I does not exist, nor you,

    so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,

    so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

  18. Has the night descended? Was the road of late so toilsome? did we stop discouraged nodding on our way? Yet a passing hour I yield you in your tracks to pause oblivious,

    Pioneers! O pioneers!

    Till with sound of trumpet, Far, far off the daybreak call hark! how loud and clear I hear it wind, Swift! to the head of the army! spring to your places,

    Pioneers! O ...

  20. Any pictures of the holster in question? I don't case leather at any particular temp. generally whatever tap temp. is works for me so I don't have the same experience you have had with the curling shrinkage etc... I am sure someone has an answer but maybe you should go get some new Veg tan tooling leather and try again fresh. Good luck.
