  1. Great pictures Tom, If they tour England I'll make an effort to see them. How come you add the alcohol, I would have thought that it would thin the colour out or make it less vibrant? Do you just apply several coats?
  2. Tom, those are brilliant! I still cant get the same bright red dye effect with the same dyes, it always seems more dull. Which finish did you use? The red V on the black background is great.
  3. Nice work! For the headlight, will you be wet molding the leather over the shape of the light unit?

  5. Thanks, I plan to try something similar at some point, First Ill be ordering some tan dye to try out.
  6. Are the side sections wet moulded to keep thier shape?
  7. Thanks, I wouldnt mind trying that effect sometime. Is that Tan dye? It looks more reddish rather than tan.
  8. Great work! Can you explain how you got that finish? How and what dye you used and the final finish? I really like that look. Thanks.
  9. Nice work! I look forward to seeing the Iron Maiden one
  10. Thanks. I've not tried doing much with antique yet. I'll have to have a practice with some simple coasters.
  11. Very nice, what final finish did you use? Did you antique over the black as well or just the skull?

  14. Fantastic tooling! And the braiding is so neat!
  15. Steve, those mugs are amazing. Im looking forward to having a go myself. I think I will try using 50% bees wax and 50% pitch based on what Ive read on here. How long does it take to make each one?
  16. What did you use for the eyebrows?
  17. I love it! Did you use paints or dyes to colour it? Also. Did you form the whole face with wet forming or just the nose?
  18. Welcome to the forum Martin. Where about in Dorset are you? Im going to Poole next weekend. Ive been interested in leatherworking for about 18 months but got really stuck in about 12 months ago. I look forward to seeing some of your work. Paul

  24. I would be very careful if using very hot water as you are more likely to be inhaling the vapour that would contain acid! I would recommend using very warm water but not enough to see the vapour. Best doing it outside or under fume/oven extractor.
  25. Amazing work!!! What background tool did you use?
