  1. Mark, looks like you have chap making down to a fine art. These look great!!
  2. Storm, I really like the Skull Star and the way you simulated the light glinting off of the eyes! Another fine job! P.S. I like the first chimp better, but that's my humble opinion.
  3. Bump!! This was two years ago, has any progress been made?
  4. These look very sturdy. I would be interested in hearing how it works out for the sandblaster also.
  5. The details in this are fantastic, Storm. Another great job!!
  6. Bentley, what kind of tool is a pro petal?
  7. Yeah, I've drooled over looked at Bobby's work on here. His rope cans are something else! Not to mention his other wise awesome carving of anything leather. There is some real talent on this forum, I have to hand it to ya'll. I really appreciate all the sharing going on.
  8. About the only thing that my eye is really drawn to is the "curl" of the leaf on the upper part of the corner. To me it doesn't flow like the rest of your pattern does. Just my opinion of course. I'd be proud to put out a product even half as good as what you've done here. Besides the wild rose and the hibiscus, what other flowers could normally be used in a modern western carving?
  9. Very nice, Storm. So how long between conception (doodling on the 5X7's) and what you're showing us here in the photo? Hours? Days? Months? Is this a depiction of an actual flower or is it a generalization?
  10. Just saw this. You did an excellent restoration job!!
  11. Fair dinkum!! ( I think I'm applying that right.) Those are some nice fish there! No wonder that pelican hangs around, you're catching all the fish........ LoL.
  12. Very nice looking leg armor!
  13. That is so cool!! I like these brickabrack thingamajiggies ya'll are doing.
  14. If I remember right, the one that I did back in the late '70's was just a plastic case and it only came with one insert. It held up for 20 years and then started to disintegrate. I got my mileage out of it, though.
  15. Thank you Bruce for a well thought out eBook. I am adding it to my library!!
  16. Wish I could help you out Dan, but I don't know how to post pics here yet. I'm sure there is someone that can help you. Looking forward to seeing your work!
  17. Can't see the attachment.
  18. Looking good. One question.... do you have a seat blank you use or have you figured out the cutout pattern for the seat top from previous seats and is it a standard size? (I think I'm asking the right questions, maybe I'm not. Noob here)
  19. TimK, Baytown is on the eastern edge of Houston next to Channelview and La Porte. Corpus is about a four and a half hour drive from here. I appreciate the offer of help.
  20. Wow, all sorts of people here from Texas. Anyone know of a leather guild here in the Baytown area?
  21. I did a wallet back when I was lots younger and enjoyed the process and carried that wallet in my back pocket for a long time until it literally fell apart. Recently I was given a set of stamping tools that were my late father-in-laws. Started picking up a few more tools and an Al Stohlman mallet and wondering if I could start back into the craft again after a 30+ year haitus. We shall see. My wife wants a bible cover and I have a friend who wants some leather knife sheaths made (one of them for a Bowie Knife.) I looked at Peter Main's website and drooled over his craftmanship. If I could only....... lol. Thanks for having a website that is friendly for noobs like me!!
