  13. Gday Brian after watching your vid i am still not sure if the lace goes under the fence or does it just rub up against it , "the part that was meant to keep your finger from being cut "
  14. I have never done any tooling on leather but i do plait whips and bosals and i make my own plaiting soap which i use mutton fat from around the kidneys , pure soap flakes , water, abit of kero to stop the dogs, rats , mice or what ever from having a chew then plus i add alittle eucalyptus oil just so the boss dont kick up a stink , i use this to grease my strings before plaiting , then i use a little at atime while plaiting so the strings pull up nice and tight. This does not darken the leather much at all, makes it nice and soft " smooth as a babies bum " i give a tub of this with my whips so neatsfoot oil is not used because it will darken my two tone whips back to one ! Cheers Bevan www.bwrwhips.com

    Bosal Hanger

Hi folks just finished this hanger for the Bosal i have made for Steve Halfpenny, the founder of silversand natural horsmanship, he took the bosal to a horse show over here by Buck Brennaman, Buck loved it , so now i am flat out making bosals for Steve to take some to the UK so he can hopefully sell to his students. Cheers for now Bevan
  21. Gday mate I know when i am making whips i measure the dia of the core " 10 mm x 4.5 = 45 div by the number of strings i want to use 12 = 3.75" that is the width of the string , it dosnt matter how many strands you use , when you plait it will add 3 mm + or - alittle bit so the finished job will be about the 13 mm mark. let us know how ya go mate Cheers Bevan ps that is using roo that has been split
  22. Fair dinkum mate that is awsome !!!! you come up with the best all the time , keep it up. I am looking foward to seeing your next piece too. Cheers Bevan
