    Bosal , Twisted Core

Gday Mike yeah i know it looks a bit heavy duty but i only use the rachets to stop it unwinding !!!! i only tighten it by hand , and i only used what i had in the shed , a couple of bearings and a bit of 2inch box section Cheers Bevan
  7. Gday folks , well i had a slack day at work today so i came up with this to help me twist a few cores for my bosals ,i used to use a few nine inch nails and the cooks table , now i like the table but the cook thinks its time i move outside !!! I used a few sockets and rachets and come up with this

  14. I think you have done a very nice piece and your knots are to be praised , they are splended !!!I know when i make whips i like to keep it nice a tight and i am not saying yours should be that way !! but if you wanted to get them tighter i use this method dia x 4.5 devided by how ever many strings i am going to plait , so lets say the core is 8mm x4.5 = 36 devided by the string you want to use 8 = 4.5 if you wanted 12 strings it would be 3 mm and so on , dont get me wrong i like what you have done ! just offering some knowledge if you wanted to go the smooth look Cheers Bevo Go the Saints
  15. Gday Roo , nice job !! hey did you want the gap between the plait or not ??, You have done well with the knots too mate Gheers Bevo

[Hey Sasquatch they are awsome mate and i am sure that the sore hand will heel !!!! lol , i feel a little sorry for the little bloke but am sure he will grow up sooner or later and will be proud to show off your best ever collar !!, i have a American Bull dog ,,, Johnson blood line , his weight is about the 76 kgs mark and his head is the size or even bigger than a soccor ball and anything smaller than your beautifull leather work look silly on him mate Keep up the good work Sas Cheers Bevo ps send some more pics to me i would love to see them mate

welcome tothe site mate and thanks for the post !!

  20. Hey 316 , they look sweet as mate , i hope to do some like that 1 day !!!! nice work mate Cheers Bevo
  21. Gday Rob well i use both , i use veg tan dry for my bosals and use my own platting soap as i go , because drumed will bleed then whisky turns in to Brandy !!!! What the !!! but if i am doing a whip that is 1 tone belly it doesnt matter but two tone i will go the dry then add my soap to plait with I all so use my soap to plait whips with even if they are drum , stuffed ,, it helps them strings to pull tighter , they slip up nice and tight with a bit of soap , "mutten fat and lux soap flakes " I am sure you have your own Rod cheers Bevan
  22. I recon ya have done a very good job mate , a little twist on the righthand side of the nose button but thats not the end of the world !!!! a few more and i am sure they will be as straight as a die!! I cant quite see the bottom of the heel knot but have you put put a concho on the bottom or is that tape ?? THE HORSE THAT USES THIS BOSAL IS A LUCKY HORSE Cheers Bevan
