  1. I need some help with the kind of nails that work best for a saddle. I understand I need a few different types but maybe you could help get an idea where to start. I've looked at a lot of the big and small hardware stores adn they don't carry the ones I see in the Stohlman books.
  2. I actually made my own speed reducer out of a big wheel which I replaced on my sewing machine. I'll take some pictures if you interested.
  3. I have several messenger bags waiting and I can make more. Check out my website to see them. www.neveshorses.com
  4. Does anyone else have this problem? I have Bruce grants enclycopedia of rawhide and leather braiding. I braided the heel knot and even made the extended version of the knot so that it's over three under three but there's still space between the laces. Also the bottom kind of creeps up leaving the lower half of the foundation exposed. What do I do?
  5. I round knife is good but you need to get it razor shape to be effective. If you don't know how to do that I'd suggest using a simple utility knife. Get a leather strop to keep the blades sharp and keep changing blades often. I bought a big 100 pack of blades. It save a lot of time. I know it's not the traditional way but unless you know how to get you knife super sharp it's pointless. Round knives are good for skiving though.
  6. Check out some of my bags www.neveshorses.com. I custom make laptop bags for people. Let me know if you're interested I could sell you a pattern

  14. Good job, may i suggest cutting your fringe thinner. A working cowboy will take those pieces to fix a bridle or anything that breaks.
