  1. Wow, by hand, with a swivel knife... yikes but there ain't no way! ) I can duplicate the mechanics but I do not have the artistic prowess. Give me the paint by numbers and save the white canvas for the true artists! You are kind for the vote of confidence. Best, Rob
  2. I went through the forum and could not find the 875. Looks like an "S" shape. It is not the enclosed rope that seems to be way more common. Rob
  3. Can someone show me the correct method to use Craftool 875? I am trying to make a rope border...just not sure how. Wrong tool? Thanks in advance! You guys are the best!
  4. White 277 nylon... and still binds sometimes????
  5. May ba a silly question but how do I know what thread I have and does anyone know what a Cobra class 4 requires??
  6. Here is one I recently completed. This piece of elephant is particularly spongy and edges did not seem to "melt" together like I had hoped. Not sure what the solution is?? When using exotics, do you guys piece (skiving both sides) the exotic or just find a piece long enough to cover the complete belt without seems? Rob
  7. Thanks! I've paid state trooper salary making it in two hours! lol
  8. I think I figured this out...user error. I missed the threading hole in the the rod that holds the needle. I will report back if this doesn't fix it.
  9. Yes front molded, but I do press and slightly bone the rear especially around the trigger guard to make a nice fitting.
  10. Just got my Cobra class 4 and am doing my best to learn on it. On occasion while sewing two 8oz leathers, 277 both sides, #24 needle, I notice that the thread twists to the point of creating a knot like twist before the needle eye and when needle lifts from the work it breaks the thread. Are tensions too tight for the leather load? It does not do it every time... Just when I am working on a nice piece )! Always the way it goes I know. What causes the twisting thread. I am using the nylon thread that came with the machine. It is the top thread twisting not the bobbin. I called Steve, he seemed stumped. Art, I know you can fix anything! What am I doing wrong. Rob Art... I know you can
  11. I figure I'd post an update since I have not posted in a few weeks. Been reading though! I got my new class 4 machine. I am working through the kinks and learning as I go. I moved to a #24 (from a #25) needle but still may have the tension too tight. The needle hole seems big??? Using 277 top and bottom. I always love a critique as I move to improve with each one. Rob
  12. Adler is sold. Holding on to tippman until new machine arrives. Hopefully this month. Rob
  13. Wiz, You are so on the money here. I had to laugh out loud! I am the MASTER of monkey futching! In fact there are few others who have monkey futched as much as I have with machines. I too finally have a NEW class 4 on order with Steve. Can't wait to get it! I love it when you chime in on these discussions. Peace, Rob
  14. I called HF and they shipped the little bottles to me for $1 each. Hard to beat!
  15. I like it too! What kind of sewing machine? What thickness leather?
  16. As a few of you know, who have watched me progress through my holster hobby, I have this thing for elephant and stingray so I figured I would try one using both! Ok, I like 1911's too. ) I shortened the width profile on this one to see how it would feel. I love the way it feels on but did not give me the room for the second stitch line adjacent the firearm. I like the way the second stitch line looks.IMO I have two others I am finishing now in a honey elephant and black elephant. Also new is my new curved belt loop. Yes it looks good but is functional too. It allows for a "bite" on a smaller belt. i.e. You can wear a 1 1/4 belt in a holster designed for a 1.5 and not have a loose holster. Thoughts comments and critiques on making them better always welcome! Rob BiancheriUSA.com
  17. I did the same. Works fine and relatively easy to learn. Bought some paint and practiced a bit on some scrap paper. I was ready to go!
  18. Thanks Eric. I'll try that on my next one. BTW did you see my elephant w/ airbrush fade? Rob
  19. What is the key to cutting or measuring an even snap flap if you do not have a template or pattern to model from. As you can see, mine is not quite even.
  20. I think this design is much better than some previous. So much to learn. This site really does make you better. Airbrushing (dying) takes some practice. Let me know what you think Eric. I'm still having trouble with boning. Anyone have a how to vid? Rob
