  6. One thing I can tell you about a rawhide maul is that over time it will get chewed up. I had a Stohlman maul I will try to find the picture of it. Around the center of the rawhide head was a grove worn over time from the tool chewing away at the rawhide with every impact. I have had my bearman mauls for six months and they look the same as the day I unwrapped them. They are well balanced and comfortable to use.   13. Here is a site with tutorial that might intrest you. It is a photo transfer method for leather using a product called picture this. The first site is take you to billy 2shews site that has a tutorial for doing things such as pictured below. I have included another web address that show several examples of the process.   17. I don't know if you are trying to make a period type pholster or are trying to make a modern carry holster.   24. the one i remember was recessing tee nut bases and they used a forstner bit to shave a hrecess for the base of the tee nut to set in so it was below or even with the surface of the leather. Ibelieve the process would work the same with the snap. Just find the right size forstner bit slowly shave the recess down to the desired depth and inset the snap base.
