  1. Nope nothing before the dye. I had let it dry for like two days before applying the dye. I have re dyed it and have let is sit for several hours. When I get home from work I will throm some more Super sheen on it see what happens
  2. Its basically a 4 piece braid. I would recommend not makeing on just for the fact that they are more assiocated with 1% clubs (Hells Angels Bandidos Vagos Henchmen etc...) They are basically to signifiy a club memebers bike. I have heard stories of them getting sucked into the front tire and killing the rider. Thats my two cents on this.
  3. When doing inlays do you sandwhich the inlay between two pieces? Or is it just stiched to the underside of the piece that is getting the inlay? I am thinking of doing a holster with some inlay work. Thanks
  4. I can get some rather large upholstery leather scraps for free and was wondering if it would be good to line holsters with? I would hate to make one and have and issue with the finish on the gun because of the leather. Thanks
  5. Will a Glock holster pattern work for an XD? They are pretty close I think the XD is not quite as thick as a Glock. I dont have a problem drawing a new pattern but just thought I would check first.
  6. If it was me I would take them into your local gun store and try them out. Worse case is you get to spend sometime in your favorite gun store.
  7. I called and left the guy a message and told him that since I had not heard back from him that I would need to pass on the job. You win some you lose some I guess.
  8. Kinda what I am thinking. Called him again and told him he would have to pay up front for both holsters before I would start waiting to.hear back from him.
  9. I talked to him and the reason he cant lend me the gun is because they are gifts for his dad and if the guns goes missing he will know something is up. I told him I would eventually need the gun to wet mold the holster. He wants me get them all stitched up then he can give them to his dad and he would than return them to me with the guns. I might just have to pass on this job if I cant find an already made pattern.
  10. A gentleman asked if I could make him two holsters one for a Judge and one for a Sig Pro SP2340. He would like them both to be pancakes with a thumb break. This is not usually a problem but he wont lend them to me and he wont provide a outline. This is a last ditch effort to try and do these holsters. If you have a pattern I would be willing to pay for a copy of it. Thanks
  11. From Tandy leather to a better quality leather for holsters? How many did you make before swithcing?
  12. I have been looking for a while and cant find a decent marine corp concho. I only need two at the most. Any help would be appericated.
  13. Thanks.all for you advice. I am still able to make this a own holster. I was secptical about making this anyway.
  14. Tanks for being honest. This is the third holster that I have made. I personally dont care for the in the waist band holster anyway but when the customer is paying for it. Would a pocket style be a better choice for an IWB?
  15. Yes that is what is it doing. I have thought of adding a piece to the front of the holster but not sure if that will work.
  16. I recently finished up my first IWB band holster for a 4inch revolver. The holster itself came out really nice the only problem is when its in the pants and you remove the gun I cant get it back in with out taking the holster out of the pants. In this picture its not quite finished but enought to test it in the pants. This is the test in the pants. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  19. Look at the AL Stolhman book how to carve. There is a small section in there on how to do this. http://www.amazon.com/How-To-Carve-Leather-Stohlman/dp/1892214997/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1331912423&sr=1-2
