  1. Just like the title says should I try and line my first holster? If so what's the best thing to use? Thanks
  2. Good Evening- I was given a HF indstrial sewing machine a couple of days ago and was wondering if anyone has used one for sewing leather. I will mainly be using it to sew holsters. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the suggestions.
  4. Good Evening- a couple of days ago I bought Al Stohlmans holster book. I have picked the pattern that I would like to try for my first holster. I was wondering if there was any known material that acts similar to leather but is cheaper to use to work out the kinks. I would be really upset with my self if I ruined a large piece of leather trying to make a holster. Thanks
  5. Well that turned out to be a bust! He had mostly "New" tandy stamps and was asking full retail price for them ($8 a piece). He did not have a head knife (which is what I was the most interested in.) But I did get some goodies. I picked up three books and a motorcycle accesory pack for $20 a swivel knife, stone, and some other misc. little things for $75.00 out the door. I don think I did to bad.
  6. You could always add a leather disk knife handle to it like on the K Bar style knifes the USMC used back in the day. www.northcoastknives.com There is a tutirol on how to do it on here if your interested.
  7. Ha Ha Ha thanks! Depending on the head knife I am going to offer about $20-25 as for the stamps and what not I am thinking $2-3 is fair. Any thoughts?
  8. Good Day- I was approached by a guy at work about buying his "Collection" of leather tools. I am not sure what he has its all sight un seen. I know he has a head knife that I am interested in but other than that not sure. My question is what would be a fair price for stamps punches etc? Thanks

  18. I also found this great example It basically looks likeca regular cowboy holster but instead of a belt loop there's a place to put it over your horn of the saddle. Anyway hope this helps!
  19. Thanks! And yes it is just a lock blade style knife that opens when you pull it out. Some people call them quick draw sheaths. Inhope to have some time today to work on another one!
  20. I made one of those auto knife opener sheath deals for my dad . When my brother saw it asked if I could do one on a belt buckle for him! This is just a prototype do it doesn't look as good as I was hoping. What do y'all think?

  22. I got a stitch groover from tandys and have used it a couple of times. Well I went to use it today and it was all clogged up! I was ablest clean it out but mow it's just " tearing" the leather to crap and clogging! Can this be fixed or should just pay the 8 bucks and get a new blade for it?
