  1. I was asked to make a pancake style holster for a stainless steel luger. I am going to get some 8/9 leather but I was wondering what to get for the lining? Pig skin? what weight? Thanks
  2. Glad it worked out for you
  3. I have been looking for a pancake hoster pattern for a glock cant seem to find one or make one myself that I like!
  4. I would contact pay pal if that is who you payed through. As far as fixing it ( I am a welder by trade) I dont know if you have ever done any brazing on cast iron before but you will need to heat everything up at an even temp. Dont jut try brazing it! It will just make it worse. If you dont have to proper tools to pre heat it the way it needs to be done I would take it too someone who can. Thats my two cents. I would try and get my money back first before trying repairs though.
  5. Might want to try this place... http://www.mcmaster.com/#screws/=fgqnrw You will need to know the dimensions though
  6. Of it were me I would just get a cheap pair of gloves and cut them to look like what your first picture. Then attach that your bracer pattern. That would give you a workable pattern.
  7. I reworked it didn't get a chance to bake it but it fits a lot better. On a side note my daughter is feeling a lot better.
  8. Okay I went back and re did some of the steps. I have oneida those Ronco food saver jobs and used that and a handle to mold the holster. I didn't get a chance to do the oven thing. Mainly because my one year old is sick and woke up. I did t want to risk leaving it in the oven and forgetting it. Can someone explain what the oven thing does for the holster? Thanks for all the help!
  9. I dont really get the whole weight thing so I couldnt tell you. Sorry. I did use four layers as an attempt to line the holster though.
  10. I soaked the holster and jammed the gun in there as far as it would go and that it were it stopped. I also wrapped the gun in saran wrap and I think that is why it is so lose in the holster now.
  11. I got it all stiched up and wet molded but the gun just slids out like there is no retention at all. Any suggestions on how to fix this. I will post some pics when I get to my camera
  12. I dont have a pattern for one but I did find this post on an airsoft forum that shows a pretty good view without the gun in it. http://www.acmeairsoft.com/showthread.php?t=2147 Hope this helps!

I think I am just over thinking this a little to much is all. Do I need to wet for the holster then sew or the other way around. does it matter ini the long run? Thanks for all the help.

  16. Thanks for the advice! This is the pattern I am using http://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/p-1042-big-gun-comfort-by-bill-mckay-series-1e-page-5.aspx As far as sewing could I use one of these? Or would it be better to use just a needle and thread? http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/1216-00.aspx
  17. Cut my pattern out and all glued up. Any suggestions on sewing this bad boy up? This is my first holster.
