  1. Hey Randy I don't suppose you could give me the details as to how you did that helmet shield? I'm a professional firefighter out in El Paso Tx. Would like to know how you carved your numbers are they painted? Did you use stencils? Etc. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hey nice sheath! I really like that lacing, I still haven't tried that yet. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Yeah we are glad we got the barbed wire stamp. I had fun with this holster, about ready to make another one.
  4. First one I've done. Think I'm going to have to add a hammer guard to it just for safety purposes but I like the way she rides on the belt.

Those are awesome and as has been mentioned place a higher value on your beautiful art!
  6. Very nice work. I'd like to make a few of those myself. Trying to wrap my mind on making the patter for the stocks. Also the bullet holders is that one strip of leather sown in between each shell or individual pieces for each shell?
  7. Very nice! Like those pins. Is part of that sheath free floating?
  8. Curious as to if you guys use plastic copies of your pistols or some other method? I'd like to wet-form a holster for my pistol but I'm worried about having it in contact with wet leather and the finish.
  9. You make all these items on your website by yourself?
  10. I'm wondering how one does this type of tooling/dying? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=150700711573
  11. Tried a little tooling on this one. Dye came out a little antique or rustic looking. We like it hope the guy getting it does.
  12. Awesome idea Leatherworker! Now to find where to buy those rivets. Wish the rivet had a button like portion like the regular line snaps.
  13. Actually I just need to find an alternate lining material and I should be ok. The sheaths just come out really substantial when I use the remnants I've been using. To me they feel like they'll be around forever. This dilemma comes from using the scrap leather from tandy. Usually the pieces big enough for what I want to accomplish are also fairly thick. Need to find some thin upholstery leather to use as a liner I guess or keep recessing my snaps with my dremel tool.
  14. This is 5-6 oz leather lined with 3-4 oz leather making it i guess around 8-10oz. Both sides that connect with each other are this thickness so once the two pieces are snapped together you have a piece of leather thats easily half an inch thick if not more. Like I said what I've done is recessed the leather to allow the post to clear and be set. I'm guessing my solution is really all that can be done unless they make an oversized snap.
  15. From one firefighter to another thats a nice looking shield. Keep them coming.
  16. Looked at their snaps and they are pretty much standard sizes. I can't believe nobody else has ran into this problem with thick leather?
  17. Just make sure you post some pictures so we can check it out.
  18. I would think you could use some upholstery type leather. I usually go to the scrap bin at Tandy for this type of item. Beware however although it says 5-7 dollars a pound it adds up quickly. For that matter you could probably find a nice piece fairly cheap on ebay.
  19. On many of the sheaths I make, I line the back of the sheath(veg tanned) with smooth chrome tanned or upholstery leather. I think it gives them a nice look and feel. My question is does anyone know if they make a line snap with a longer than normal post? The standard line 24's I'm using require me to recess the leather in order for enough of the post to show to be able to set the snap. I accomplish this tedious task with a dremel tool. I'm completely self taught so I'm sure I'm missing something. Normally the two pieces of the sheaths I build that snap together to secure to the belt are extremely thick. Hope I articulated this problem well enough for the experts to help me out. I'll try and take a picture if need be. Thanks for your help in advance.
  20. Yes is has a loop and snap on the back, I should have snapped a picture of it. I'll post one when I get a chance.
  21. Man that is awesome! I really like that. Going to have to try my hand at making one.
  22. Garrett Propointer sheath. These are smaller metal detectors used to pinpoint the exact location of your treasure.
  23. I think the blue zippers make the bag pop! Nicely done.
  24. Nice! I like that stamp running along the border. The center stamp that sort of looks like a rope? Now I need another one.
