  2. Thanks alot Wayne and Casey, Wayne I wished I had as much tooling talent as you do, I could really add some extra flash. Casey I would be honored to get something in your show. I would like to see some more details. Dink
  3. Thanks Spinner and Deb, To do the lettering a pattern and font are printed off the computer then cut out of paper, then transfered to leather, then cut out backed ith a differsnt color and sewn on. I hope that helps. Dink
  4. A quick explaination, these chaps were requested to match the Miss Rodeo America Crown, Blackhills Gold. So the bottom corner is in the same shape as the crown with three Swarovski crystals like the crown has. The leaf shapes are also the same shapes that are stacked in to form the crown.
  5. Found some, thanks everyone
  6. Anyone have a good line for tanned coyote hides? Dink
  7. I use a Heritage press from weaver It works well and has many dies available for it. Dink
  8. I like the red 1" think clicker board for punching into, you can also get small pieces of it like 12 x 18 at tandy, it is a little firmer so it is easier to punch into. I tried the white cutting board stuff but it did not hold up near as long, it is much cheaper though. I have also covered all of my benh and table tops with rubber 3/4" stall mats, just as added precaution and it can also be punched into. Dink
  9. How do you make up this mixture, I would like to give it a try. Dink
  10. Only an opinion but I think it will be going to fast and tend to scorch leather, and the leather will tend to just fill up the wheel and not do anything, if you have one try the small (I use 1") drum sander that can be chucked into a drill press, run on slow speed with a course paper I think around an 80 grit. that seems to work pretty well for me. 11. Hello all, I am searching for any advise or reccomendations available. I am looking at the options to use a smart phone as a credit card terminal, does anyone have experience with this? I was looking at Squareup, and Intuit-gopayment. Dink
  12. Thanks Tex, they were fun to make, Dink
  13. Pro Rodeo Originals, we base price dies at $1.80 an inch and only vary from that if something is intricate or for some reason requires a large amount of extra time
  14. Thanks everyone, I will look for coast silver, Tandys look nice and are reasonable in price until you add the $350 setup fee.
  15. Does anyone use the metal/silver maker stamps with the rivet or srew backs, mostly seen on saddles? Not sure exactly what to call them, but am looking for a good source to get them made. Dink
  16. New to me supplier, I recently bought a couple sides from American Leather Distributors (800-624-7642 or info@leathered.com) I have no long term experience with them to compare but with the two sides I got from them to try I was pretty happy with the usable yield as well as the temper for tooling.
  17. Thanks Everyone This is excellent and extremley helpful info. Dink

    Copper Rivets

For Sale- I have 10, 1 pound boxes of #9 copper rivets with burrs from Weaver Leather, $8.00 per box + shipping. If I take them out of the box and bag them, up to about six lbs will fit in a $6 flat rate box. If you want them all it will take the $12.00 flat rate box. Dink
