  7. Hello Bob and Dwight, I have enjoyed meeting you on the site and hope I will be able to visit for some time yet. It was a difficult decision but I believe that it is the way I must travel now. Hard to think of letting go but know I am not the only one that has had to face this situation. Always been very active and met many great folks along the way, never being able to get enough of life and all of the wonderful things that came along with it. So many experiences just waiting for us to take advantage of the thrill of learning something new and creative. I have found that one experience leads to more interesting experiences as we become involved. All of the leather crafters have surely found many other items of interest as they created those beautiful items. Suppose I have been one of those addicted to learning. Wish I had paid better attention when I was a wee lad but you know, at that time in life I thought I had all the answers. lol. I could go on and on about things for a long time to come but best to just say, "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart", to all of you that have taken the time to share a moment of your life. Time is so precious and you have taken some of that non renewable treasure and offered it to me with no strings attached. Doesn't get any better than that. God Bless. Ray

I'm sure that you are all aware of what they look like so have decided that the task of taking pics was more than I could do at the moment. 16. As some may have read in the conversation section of the site, I am passing the torch and preparing to sell off all of my supplies, tools, machines, books, leather, and more. I recently purchased this burnisher from Cobra folks and a favorite machine in the shop. Has been used very little and always covered when not in use. Has sanding roll on one side and rosewood burnisher on other side. Variable speed motor and reversible as well. Great cast iron stand with small holding tray just beneath the table top. Stand is height adjustable and was ideal for me as I have to work from seated position. This would be a welcome addition to any shop. Selling for first $300.00 plus shipping or may be picked up in Opelika, Alabama, 36804. I will be listing all of my items here and on other sites which will provide good exposure and result in fast sales. Hope a leather person from this site is the buyer and please watch for many more items to be listed as we are able to get things together and pics taken. Will be a difficult chore but time has dictated that it is time is to go. Ask questions and I will attempt to answer them. Check the shipping charge that Cobra has listed, @ $69.00 I believe, and I will do whatever I can to be at that level or less. Actual shipping charges only. God Bless. Ray
  17. After much deliberation and discussion with my beloved, I have finally reached a decision that pertains to my continued leathercraft adventure. Sadly, I have decided, that it is time to give it all up and close it out. I, along with my wonderful lady, will be gathering things together and deciding what will be sold in groups and what will be sold as single items. It would be very nice to sell everything in a single lot but after viewing attempts by others to retire and sell out in quantity, I feel that selling in groups/collections will serve my purposes at this time. I will be listing on several sites to gain the exposure I feel I need to move it all and it will require some time to put together the listings, take pics, etc; so will be rather drawn out at my limited speed capability. I have enjoyed all of the time I have been fortunate enough to have in the craft and hope to tag along as a retiree, so to speak. I have met many wonderful folks on the site and enjoyed everything that has come my way. Memories are treasures for me and hope that you experience the same as you pass through the great experience of life. Thank you all for the understanding and kindness you have shown to everyone in the past and know it feels good to have helped many others along the way. God Bless you all. Ray
  18. Hello Dfrensdorf, I have the product in my shop and use it all the time when I burnish. Wonderful product and very little needed to produce great results. Was happy to find this product. I am certain that there are other concoctions that would work for burnishing but this was the easy way out, I suppose, for me. In addition, it does not seem to alter the dyes I use on different projects. If you try it, I hope you have as good an experience as I have had. God Bless. Ray
  19. Best vendor that I am aware of would be Bob Kovar at Toledo sewing machine. Always good service and plenty of assistance when needed. God Bless. Ray
  20. Thank you Mike and Trox, for providing some information. I hope others take an interest and respond as certain that there are a ton of ideas, thoughts and more, on this site. I have seen issues with different fasteners at times and sure others have experienced the same and hope they share some info. Thanks again and God Bless. Ray
  21. I read so much about the different types of leather, weights of same, and more, about best leather to use and leather not to use for dog collars, dog leads, harness for pets, etc; and would like to know the feelings of those on the site as to what they really feel is best to use for these products. I have heard of some folks using bellies, others that say no bellies, some saying backs and others questioning that as well. Bellies stretching to much, backs sometimes a bit rigid, and more. Would really like to get some opinions as to best all around leather to use, methods of fastening, and any other information that might be of benefit for those of us making such items. I have made a few without problems and have addressed a few safety issues that involve strength of leads and fasteners used for various collars and leads. I may be correct in my thinking, based on my experience but others I'm sure, have great information they could share with us on the site. Hope I receive a lot of response and know that there are many of you that are very talented and have produced some magnificent items that I hope you will share. God Bless. Ray
  22. I have the older version of the KO sharpener and it is great. No idea what the improvements are to the KO version but probably worth every cent. God Bless. Ray

I have a couple of the brass rolls that are unused as well as some of the bunkhouse rolls. If anyone is interested in purchasing what I have, drop me a line. When able, I will attempt to get it listed in the for sale section but may take awhile as motion not as good as in the past. Hope to improve and get around a bit soon. Also listing othe things on Webstore.com under goodthings1 if anyone cares to look at items I was able to place there recently and in the past. God Bless. Ray
  25. Second attempt may be the answer as first attempt at pics went ??????? lol. Few pics of the 2 oz. full hides I have no need for.
