  1. I have a couple of full hides of lightweight leather, 1 sort of an ecru/beige/cream color and another in black. I will never use them but someone that does a lot of lining or perhaps upholstery may find a good use for them. Make an offer if you might be interested and we can proceed from there. May even consider trading for some heavyweight veg-tan side. Open to all for discussion and if I can get to the shop in next few days, I will attempt pics and post at later date. God Bless. Ray
  2. The small cabinet you found on eBay is great, as is the tool holder you made for yourself. Would you happen to have the eBay listing number for the cabinet? Might be out of sight to have shipped to Alabama but have been fooled before. God Bless. Ray
  3. Hey David, Dog collar looks great. You are not alone. See if you can find my errant stamp placement on my bulldog pic. It also was the last item. lol. Love it and decided to keep it the way it ended up. Provides me some memories and helps me keep my, *&^%$#%^&*( under control. God Bless. Ray
  4. Hello Shauna, You have found the right place, where assistance abounds. Read some funny things about Montana just yesterday and brought a few chuckles. One pic displayed a sign that recognized a location that had the lowest temp ever recorded, -70 degrees. OUCH! Another was a map of Montana stating that percentage of gun owners was depicted in red. The entire map was red. I love creative and fun things so enjoyed the chuckles. Welcome aboard from Alabama. God Bless. Ray
  5. Happy to have you here on the site. Possibilities are unlimited and you will find many interesting projects along the way. Time and money are the restricting factors but not sure in which order. Just have fun and ask questions. The help is here. God Bless. Ray

  9. Would anyone have any interesting cuff patterns they would be willing to share, or sell, if not expensive? Tandy has pack of usual patterns but thought I might pick up some new ideas here. Thank you and God Bless. Ray
  10. Hello Hindori, You ask a tough question. I could never be the judge of what would be the best buy based on pictures as it would be something I would have to lay hands on to make my selection. In addition, I would want to know if they are genuine gator or croc or embossed cowhide? The price is, in my opinion, very high but there mat be many factors here that I do not understand. Not meant to get any yea or nay comment started, simply my opinion, be it good or bad. Everyone is entitled to receive what they think is a fair price for their work and as I said, I may not understand what is involved here. I suppose I am not being of much assistance here but certain that you will make a determination and purchase the one that is best for you. Hope you are having a wonderful time and taking in all the sights and experiencing the ambience of the area. God bless. Ray

  13. WOW! So many opinions about something that should be easy to understand by doing what is right. As the saying goes, everyone has one, but usually not in reference to opinions. Simple for me. If I catch and undercharge at the store or when I return home and check my receipt, I simply show the folks where the problem was and I pay for the due balance or return the unpaid merchandise. If overcharged, I follow the same principal and expect the store to refund the overcharge. Seems that here are many differing opinions as to how such a simple process should be corrected. I don't feel that there are any excuses that can excuse anything other than correcting the situation and paying for what we purchase and receiving refunds when we are overcharged. Sales clerks are no different than we are, good days and bad days so not a reason that should make the transaction different than what it was supposed to be. When I shop for items and see what they cost, I simply pay the price if I want the item and leave it if I think I can do without it or priced higher than I wish to pay. If you have ever experienced the selling end of a situation, you certainly want to receive your price and prevent overcharging a customer that you hope will continue to do business with you. I suppose a good way to be is simply, let your conscience be your guide. God Bless. Ray

I use the Optivisor and have a great selection of lens. Use it when stamping, carving, burning and more and best way to go for me as keeps my hands free for the task at hand. Have the light attachment but have not used to date. So many neat things available for us to try. Great fun and even better when we find something that works for us. God Bless. Ray
  15. Thank you Bill and Tom. Took a look at Goldstar unit for $300.00 and also considering the fabrication of a unit as you suggested, Bill. Eglideride emailed me a pic of a unit that someone had made and it may be the way to go as I have the Goldstar bench setter and a couple of dies in house. Having to work from a seated position, I will have to come up with a way to multiply the applied force as won't be able to apply full body weight. Did locate a stand for $39.00 at Harbor Freight and with 20% coupon that may be the ticket. It is adjustable to several height positions and that is also a plus for me. Hope I can pull it off and thank you for the suggestions. God Bless. Ray
  16. Hello Folks, I am beginning a search for a foot operated grommet/rivet/spot setter that is not extremely expensive and dies and accessories are reasonable. Any suggestions? Assistance heading me off in right direction would be appreciated. God Bless. Ray
  17. Forgot to mention. The toolholders are FREE to anyone purchasing the remaining stamps. Just pay the shipping and they are yours. In addition, the zodiac set is included in the price for all of the stamps. I pay shipping on the stamps. God Bless. Ray
  18. The tool is a nice idea but the "blades", "prongs", are just weak and bend easily. I use the tool now and then but have sharpened the prongs to a point and they seem to do a better job. Still not ideal but okay for use now and then. God Bless. Ray
  19. Here is a great selection of Barons stamps for the leather worker. All of the remaining stamps, postage paid, for $250.00. Free shipping does not include the tool holders but have several of them if anyone is interested. Sure you would be pleased to own them at this price. email raysouth1@hotmail.com or via site mail service. God Bless. Ray
  20. Hello Jmk and please excuse my not paying attention to the things I have listed. They can be used with a steel plat, small, over them and pressed with a small arbor press or hammered via mallet. Very easy to use and most all make very nice impressions. If no longer interested I would certainly understand as I have not been on the net as often as I should have. Thank you for expressing an interest and contact me at any time. raysouth1@hotmail.com or via this sites mail system. God Bless. Ray
  21. What an issue. I am a vegetarian and at times I say vegan, but still make leather goods and enjoy the craft. All a personal preference and to each his own. I do not attempt to sway anyone to my way of thinking and if eating meat is what they want to do, so be it. I have no problem either way. Just do whatever it is that makes you comfortable, enjoy every moment of your life while you are able as we all die one day and the opinions become moot. I have not been a vegetarian my entire life, just a few years, 30 or so, and find that I enjoy vegetables very much. Even attempt to grow a few but not a pro gardner either, but have fun doing it. Like the $25.00 tomato I may get. lol. I love David's response above, (eglideride). God Bless you all. Ray
  22. Never had any bulls at home but certainly have heard my share of bull-stuff. Happy Holidays to all. God Bless. Ray
  23. Wishing the best of everything for this wonderful Holiday Season. Share the experience and enjoy the family and friends. The new year will bring us all a chance at a new beginning. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. GOD BLESS. RAY
  24. You might also try the MagnetMan as he offers many neodymium magnets of all shapes and sizes. Located in Birmingham, Al., I believe and prices are very fair. Be sure to look at the special and close outs. God Bless. Ray
  25. Try; WWW.GOLDSTARTOOL.COM for setters and other supplies. Very inexpensive bench top setter and they have a package deal that includes a die or two for @ $80.00. Works great and use it all the time. Additional dies are also very inexpensive compared to others on the market. Has videos on how to use as well. You may like to look at grommet/eyelet offerings from Lord and Hodge as well. Great products and fair prices. Rome Fastener is another site that offers similar products. Hope some of this is of use to you.. God Bless. Ray
