  1. If the picture loads, you can see where once in a blue mon, at random intervals the bobbin thread comes all the up thru the leather??? I have the bobbin adjusted as tight as it will go, and the top backed way off on both adjustments? the one before the "wax pot" which has been removed, and the hammer type place where this is routed... I am also having trouble with a skipped stitch on occassion! I have the foot pressure adjusted as far as it will go down but still out of the blue it skips? I have a 24 nedle with 277 thread top and bottom! what am I missing???
  2. my blonde hair strikes again... I was inserting the needle thru the thread hole, and thats why I couldn't get thew needle to stay tight... I jumped to conclusions because I had read that there were differennt parts for the different needles
  3. Only quoting Ron from Ferdco, using a 794s serv-1 and dropping the needle bar down just a bit (to line up hook with the center of the groove (forgot proper term) he claims you shpould still be able to sew an inch, just lose a little of the foot lift... I haven't tried it just yet...
  4. According to Ron at Ferdco, he has a common needle thaty will fit, and all you have to do is drop the needle bar less than an 1/8th" and can still sew 1" he told me that would lose a little of my lift on my presser foot!
  5. I talked to Ron at Ferdco today! give him a call! its an easy thing to do! he knows exactly what needle to use, and you drop the need bar a little bit to get the hook on the bobbin assembly "timed" its a easy thing to do!
  6. Try to get 9 of us to agree on what size!I called ferdco but they had something called a blizzard in Iaho, so only "bubba" was there! am guessing they wnt o the local Dairy Queen! the only place hre in south Texas can find a blizzad!
  7. Gregg from Keystone sewing machine sold me the last of what he had! they are too small for the parts that came with my machine! What size needles are you using now? the top of the shank is narrower on the needle, so need the two pieces pOinting at to make use of these needles! When bought my machine from Kplan sewing machine sales it came with only a size 28 needle! lots of them have been knocking the rust off of!
  8. Depends on who ya ask! lmao http://m.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.158484424182567.34755.100000630308869&type=1&op=10&v&refid=52When did this they called me spiderman! Look at some of my other videos and when was racing the turbotexas thing stuck!
  9. Thanks! on the chap leather using a singer 31-15 with 138 thread. The tooled leather gets sewn on with a singer 153-103 with 346 thread top, and 277 below! only using the 277 down under because the bobbins re small! this machine has a smaller diameter cylinder, which used in the past, compared to the bigger 441 clones!

  15. never had this problem years ago? I had a Glue Booger that would take the glue right off the top grain leather? Now it seems to just get all rubbery and stick? I ordered a glue eraser from Dan at Cambell in Yoakum, hoping that wll help? With all the inlayed work I do I don't need the glue stcking to collect rodeo dust!

  18. I have bought some smaller needles for my 97-10, but have since discovered I need to swap out the needle holder and guide foot. (see picture) the smaller needles don't have the same shank size! Anyone have one they would sell? Even if it's the same size, I could have it filled in, and re- bored! The parts are where my fingers are pointing! Thanks! Any other parts I'd be interested in also! presser feet, the bottom plate in the picture (I'd like to cut one down to get closer to the work!
