  1. Pictures are with a thousand words!
  2. WW I as well! Mine was made in 1910 according to who sold it to me!
  3. i have a 153 and using the 23 needle I have been able to sew with a 346 thread thru many a pair of Custom Rodeo chaps! 7 oz tooled leather stacked on top of two 4-5 oz chap leather! small bobbin is only downfall to this machine! I love it, but next machine will have bigger bobbin... I also made a table top attachment... two machines in one...
  4. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=33384 for the thread and needle sizings... the foot not coming up much is an adjustment that looks like should be done where the big spring up[ top is? if your using the thinnner chap leather you might not have enough pressure on the leather to hold it down, which will mess up a stitch as well in my opinion... just throwing options at you!
  5. i'm betting the assembler over torqued the allen bolt and cracked the CHEAP CHINESE PART...
  6. Sorry I disagree... Newbies like myself need and appreciate OPINIONS on items and pricing... SOME (Not this guy, or anyone in particular being named or mentioned) people are able to take advantage of those with little to no experience and "Gouge" Newbies on products all day long... So as an educational tool, these type of replies are benificial... if the posts are detailed and facts presented we can make a better decision on purchacing these items...
  7. i've left several PM's even talked to Bob @ toledo sewing machine (sewmun)! I am ready to buy the 34 needles we agreed to!David
  8. If you sell these at $15.00 per needle let me know! I will sell that sucker my whole collection of them! Hell at that price I can sell him my large collection of them, and buy a NEW machine! I bought mine from a reputable dealer 5 months ago! ten minutes worth of work and $12.00 a 10 pack (my memory might be wrong on that price somewhere close) and these machines can get needles all day long! Contact the guys in Idaho at ferdco for details on how to adjust your needle bar! ONLY disadvantage to that is you go from 1" of sewing thickness to 7/8" thickness! $3.00 per needle and I'll tack 2 boxes... 25 and 27
  9. How did you come up with this astronomical price? or is it $15.00 per box? These needles are not that rare, they are a $3.00 needle when bought seperately... I will convert my machine to another needle system, for $15.00 a piece...I'll buy a box of each size (25 and 27) at $3.00 each
  10. The 200/25 Is the size of the needle! the 97-4 is system and point configuration! How many do you have, and how much?Where you from? (Shipping) Please PM me!
  11. I just looked at some needles I have, and they are label 97-4 for the chisel, and 97-3 for the round! assuming these were packaged correctly, I'd like them...
  12. they will have a chisel point to them, not a rounded bullet taper!
  13. I am interested, if these are a Leather point needle!
  14. Here is the last piece I did... http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.352689148095426.88917.100000630308869&type=3 I still hadn't put the double cap rivits into yje handles, I used them to mount the inside pockets
  15. It's a 5-6 oz leather from Napa Hyde house I bought 12+ years ago! This is just the remnants of a pair of Chaps I made way back then! here is how I did my Handles, with the ends done up like riens!
  16. thanks, I dont have access to the books, so I'll give the search a try
  17. NO Fabric on this one... It's a chocolate chap leather and a buckskin chap leather up top Not sure how to do the "rounded" handles? Ant links??? Tutorials?

  19. I went over some things, and found one thing that "might" be the problem! Just need input from others familiar with this machine! Looking at the picture, where my finger is pointed, I found this nut to be loose! This is the "hammer" piece I was refering to which seems to work as a "brake" on the thread as it cycles? HELP!!!
