  1. Like I said I am not upset! I haven't called and talked to lois because I imagined ya'll were closed for the holidays! I looked thru the boxes, I saw nothing! I also looked at the table and there were no holes drilled by the belt area! i will be working all week, so if you can send one, I can put it on myself, I will call and give you my CC for the light! Again Thanks! Also I found some old papers and what I had years ago was a 103, not a 101! [ quote name=Gregg From Keystone Sewing' timestamp='1325686344' post='227504] What the...keep the light, but I'm concerned about the bobbin winder. Did speak with Lois or or anyone about this? Look around, could be in the box or up under the stand, if you don't see it, we'll be sure to send ASAP. Glad things are going well so far. This kind of stuff happens every year before the Christmas rush!
  2. It could possibly be in the box, l double check tomorrow when get home! remember seeing holes rilled where it should have been! aint upset, know you dropped everything to get this shipped out t me so could finish my sons chaps!
  3. I have made several hundred pair of these rodeo chaps! all years ago! If you look at the second link you can see some of my work back then! I'm slowly gettinh back into the trade, and need to figure out the pricing, and see what others are charging!
  4. post pictures of your christmas present! David Mills
  5. I have one too! I love it! I have 20 or more 97x4 needles I recieved when I got it! I have several sized of needles in the 3, and I am try out using my knife sharpener to "cut" the round point needles to a diamond shape! I have some 25 sized needles, but they wont fit the machine! I read somewher that there are different presser feet and guide parts for the smaller sized needles! Anyone have a set they would part with?
  6. here are some pic's of a pair I made for my son! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.310080135689661.80296.100000630308869&type=1 please critic! my old shop stuff I found pics of! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.257246370973038.69861.100000630308869&type=1
  7. top pieces is sewn with 346 top and 277 bottoms the cross below that was using 277 top and bottom, with a 25 needle
  8. WOW impressed! got my machine from Keystone friday, nd within an hour was sewing on it! extremally clean unit! packed perfectly (I'm in the trucking industry) the only thing "missing" was bobbin winder, but will not fault gregg because he got it shipped to me QUICKLY because "rushed" him! Gregg you also sent me an "extra" light when you sent me the 3! one was supposed to go on the machine, which you had installed! so can either pay you for the extra light or send it back! On phone so let me ry sending pictures!Beautiful stitch using a 346 top and 277 bottom, and 277 top and bottom! the 138 went right in with only changing the needle!
  9. Pictures? They make a size 25 needle for this machine, and I successfully sewed 346 thread with this machine for years in leather! Only drawback was the small bobbin!
  10. Thanks Gregg! I am looking forward to recieving this machine! Now I need to start cutting leather and make something!!!
  11. glad I saw this thread, saw one locally, but decided not to go with it... simply because of the dog feed...
  12. I am doing this as a hobby, as many others are... I had a full blown saddlery business 12 years ago, and yes if I was doing this in a retail location, as a means of supporting myself, and family then yes I would go the route you suggest... I just recently bought a sewing machine for $160.00 that most want $450.00 for... it took me a week to find it, he had it listed at $275.00 saved $290.00 which some will go for rollers and dog feet and a spool holder... I hope the next machine I stumble upon I can get cheap... I am still in the process of building work benches and tables! I haven't even started to pull out the tools from the boxes they have been in for 12 years... I have a full time job, that pay's good enough that I can work part time!
  13. Singer 97-10 there are other models from 1-10 just varies on mounting/base motor etc. walking foot harness machine sews 1" of leather. thread size as large as you can get. Needles are hard to find I wouldn't think anything less than 207 I have't used mine with other thread yet. These machines had wax pots on them years ago. I would like to find one for mine if possible!
  14. here is my next listing of a known Machine Singer 153w-101 walking foot cylinder arm 1/2" lift up to 346 thread in my experience. but this was years ago and I have CRS.
  15. And just because it's listed as an industrial or commercial machine doesn't mean it will do anything in leather as I learned with my one phone call to Bob. I found a Singer 241-12 on craigslist in my price range. This list/phone call saved me a 100 mile trip!
  16. I will not spend good money on shipping something from across the country if can find it locally! I would think it's a good idea to have a good reference of USEABLE machines because not all machines are available at every dealer in the best price. Sometimes a guy gets lucky and finds a machine locally! Hell I found a large lot of cylinder arm machines 15 some odd years ago for cheap... I didn't know the first thing about what I had found, but Bob at Toledo did... So no I won't stop seaching locally, and I don't think it's fair to call a dealer and ask him about a machine evey time I see one at what might be a good price. They have a business to run, and being on the phone with me is unproductive for them! This is why I think this list is a GREAT idea! You're right my reference to "3 layers of chap leather" was not very useful, especially for those who don't know what chap leather is...
