  1. Thanks Bob, will be working on it today if i can stay awake. Syl's given me some great ideasand the mind's willing but the body catching up on sleep. I do intend to register it so have it in the brochure. Cheryl
  2. If you look at the top of your screen you'll see a little green thing (on the right by your name) where I sent you urls and videos. happy braiding, cheryl
  3. I know a place where you can get good quality material inexpensively for mecate (if he wants them for a bosal) made of goat hair. To make mecate reins you'd need probably 25 feet x 4 if he wants the popper end too. they would be 20 feet but the braiding will take up some of that length. But they would be an absolute killer set by the time you were done. I'll send you all this stuff in a PM after I gather it up. I'm sorry i didn't answer sooner but I dropped off to sleep, I've been pulling a lot of 36 hour shifts here at home trying to get a business started. Cheryl
  4. It DOES look like a pop can doesn't it? Actually it's a yogurt container with brushes in it. That's the 'shelves' we made by taking out a door that went to drywall, LOL. I realized it was supplies and never noticed it again. I didn't see anything wrong with people knowing I had SOME supplies, LOL. but now it looks funny. so edit it will. I had planned to print these myself so I never thought about the black and white. Plus the red rose is gonna look macabre in my logo, LOL. But the first ones can be color because George and I will do them. Now I know why my printer kept printing out another page, LOL. And also if i wanted to do double sided printing. I DON'T like management. AND to make it worse I'm working on a 12 ton pile of paperwork for BROC when he and I meet AND He wants me to bring my laptop Friday so we can get my finances under control. I think my spending is about to be curtailed, which is good I know, but not as fun, LOL. Oh jeeze i just realized i need to find Allen, gonna copy and paste this to work on. Thanks so much Syl. c
  5. what great ideas. Yes I'm going to fold it, did two today and didn't fold them the same, LOL. George is going to have to help on that, I cannot rotate objects in space in my head like right-brained people can. And these are all good ideas and I appreciate it. I will work on kit more today. Well except.......have you every heard of a non-negotiable? That's what we call it in fiction anyway. I can lose the black eye, but not the brown one. That's Sienna's eye, and is aroun d my neck where it always is for good luck and as a worry stone almost. Everything else I agree absolutely on. c
  6. hI hANNAHBABY AND WELCOME. WE HAVE A WHOLE BRAIDING FORUM IF YOU KEEP GOING. bUT what KIND DOES HE WANT? fLAT, ROUND, (sorry 'bout the caps, still 1/2 alseep)? Oh and you could really have fun with him if you did a mystery braid which is so easy even I can do it. I learned how on youtube. they have a gazillion videos on all kinds of leather work. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. You're going to need leather and a knife and your hands and that's about it. If you tell me what kind, i'll find you some videos. Also look up winterbear in the member area. Knows this stuff and very helpful. Cheryl
  7. OK new one since you hated the last one ( I'll never use THAT as an option again ) Seriously, I hope this is better
  8. Why won't my PDF open? Ieverytime i tried it downloaded. I was too tired to print it, scan it and then put it up but will now.
  9. That's wonderful. i have a small molded box i made like that but nothing big enough to cover it. now i see what i can do with it. ( I think, I'm still kinda asleep, LOL) Cheryl
  10. Joe that is so good. It took me a while to get the 'my mixture' part (I just got up) and then I thought, what an idea. Your lettering is superb and you know I love your pipes. I don't know anything about them so I wish you'd tell us what kind they are when you post. That way i could learn two things at once, about pipes and see your work. Cheryl
  11. I thought the description might be a tad poetic for people who have horses as a living, not one that owns them. OK< now that we have the things you liked out of the way, what did ya really think? Do ya 'spose all those people who downloaded it are rewriting it for me? probably not. Syl I AM a fiction writer, and I'd rather get a brochure like that than bullets, but then we all know I'm weird. OK, I can do that, it's no problem if you can just tell me, 'Why another horse and rider store? Then I'll go from there, K? Cheryl
  12. You guysw are DOWNLOADING my cards and brochure and can't even say ya hate it? I HOPE it's cause you're gonna run copies and help me sell things
  13. Hey Boot? Can you tell what this says? Look a little different now doesn't it. Cheryl
  14. I just finished the brochure. Did business cards a while back, but George printed them out and I didn't get any, LOL. I scanned the card just like i use a swivel knife!!!!! Than ks folks, Cheryl
  15. Thank you Frank. I'll just clean that puppy up and use it on my boots. And everyone elses around here. Can you buff them by hand? Finishing wax, guess my vanilla candle doesn't qualify? Just look for finishing wax at leather supply houses? Thanks, Cheryl

    Rythym Beads

    OK new one to download
  17. A friend of mine found it online since she knew I'd bought a whole cow's worth of rawhide. And I bought it in a split second.....then she wrote me back and found one used, the ORIGINAL from 1956. I'll see if I still have the url. Animals just crack me up. To say my dog is bored would be such an understatement. I'm either working or sleeping, neither of which she seems to find very interesting. Today I put my rythym beads on 'show off' and had to get a set out of what I call my 'barn bag,' insulated and square with a zipper, big enough for m y 2-litre diet colas, and numerous things I'm taking back and forth to the barn. We haven't been able to go because my driver found out Thursday he had a brain tumor, and CALLED me to let me know he couldn't take me to the barn Friday. Like i really cared after that news. ANYWAY, while i was scanning the rythym beads in here she was quite busy in there. When I took the set that needs to go to the barn back to the bag, the dog had put one of her bones in the bag. More than one of us missing some fresh air and exercise Anyway the book is about nothing but rawhide braiding and knots. Which you could do with any material of course. The one I got: My link The one I shoulda, LOL: My link Cheryl

Well gosh, thanks. Wasn't expecting all THAT kinda praise. I'm still sewing the last set but I'll put it on when it's finished so you folks can download the pics of it too. Thanks, Cheryl

    Rythym Beads

Why have 24 people downloaded these pictures, yet not bothered to comment? These aren't like my 'In the Eye of a Horse,' I don't own the design. I even told ya where to get them cheaper than mine. I'm just trying to understand if ya love 'em or hate 'em since you're downloading the pics, LOL.
  20. Chancey, You never cease to amaze me. I buy my clothes at the mission, twice a year......replace winter stuff I need and summer too. I wear a new pair of LL bean Boots to the barn I got for 5 bucks. When I sold vintage jewelry etc. online got most of that at the humane society thrift store. I even got a 5 buck FULL LENGTH leather coat there I was going to cut up to make a computer, keyboard, and monitor cover out of. However it fit the friend that was with me and she wouldn't give it back, LOL. Never once thought about this stuff for leather. Cheryl

    Rythym Beads

I had a member say 'Nice work' about these and I don't think I have every put them on before. I may have because I'm a big showoff anyway A lot of you might not consider this leather work, but I use leather, and I'm sewing a back on the newest set, and besides that, I've sold 3 sets without trying, and they are a horse training aid. When I saw my first set on a horse forum I thought it was a 'new age' (no insult intended) like nice calming green beads so your horse sleeps better or something. But it's not the BEADS, it's the bells that riding instructors, dressage people, and people just plain wanting to improve their rythym with their horse buy them for. I don't go to the English or Dressage forum on here (if there is one and I'm sure there is, LOL) because I don't ride English anymore. But if you western folk have learned the advantage of posting yet, and the fact doing it wrong can hurt your horses back, well I'm still at the right place. I'm not trying to sell you something, Chick's had these for $15.00 a while back and i sell mine for 25. I hand make mine but I'm sure a machine made set will keep time, LOL. Cheryl first set is finished off with a buckle, second a handmade latigo, one I'm working on now is going to finish with a mystery braid
  22. Thanks WinterBear. But a friend of mine found a great book for me online called "How to make cowboy horse gear' that's about nothing but rawhide. I was too tired to work the other day and read the first chapter on different ways of making rawhide, got to the second and it was about!!!!! Turk's head knots, LOL. He has a bridle he made in here early on that is just gorgeous made all of rawhide. But of course the book was first published in 1956, LOL. I scanned a picture for you. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in knots, braiding, or horse tack. It was very inexpensive. The idea of using something easier on the hands and to work with than rawhide is excellent, LOL. Cheryl
  23. I don't know how I came up with mine to be honest. I like catchy names but I know most people don't even know what couture is. My initials are C. A. C. so the Double C was easy. I don't really think I understand your concern. I know there's probably 1000 places named Double C something or other. As long as it's not identical I don't see where it would matter. Man I so have to beg to differ with you on that 5 buck shirt at Walmart. They don't sell anything that I know of that ain't from China. The only time you could compare the 2 is if the Custom shirt was made in China too. I buy and sell USA WHEN I can find it. We so need the jobs right now. anyway good luck on your name search. Cheryl
  24. Well I've sold an In the Eye of a Horse, and three rythym beads, no two, I'm giving on set I made fast and inexpensively to a girl I know can't afford one, for the testimonial on my site. I started another one last night or yesterday I guess and it's going to be pretty I think, and I think the woman will want this one along with the one she's getting her own beads for. This one doesn't have any beads on it, but different typed of silver colored brads because the whole point is is the bells on it, not the beads. I'm putting a lining on the back although I checked every brad to make sure I had hammered the points down to make sure nothing ever sticks the horse. Oh AND I made a mystery braid to finish it off with when I get to that point. Now that was fun.....Actually I like all of it, designing them and so on, but my hands were so sore I just couldn't keep sewing. so I switched to a checkbook cover/card holder I'm making for me. Only because I'd already tooled the leather and it didn't work where I planned it, so I can't stand to throw anything away. So I'm gonna get that done today if it kills me and it's looking like it might but that's been fun too. Hope to have it on today. What YOU putting on today for me to see? Cheryl
