How do companies make a large embossed print into chrome tanned leather? Is there a machine large enough to print half sides? I’m assuming it needs heat and a fan to suck away the caustic air.

Yes, but as stated I have not seen a mention of the type of leather they have been used on. Does it make a difference? I don’t want someone paying a couple hundred for a purse and have it flake off.

I’ve looked into different edge kotes and have seen a wide usage. I have not seen anything discussing Chrome tanned leather. Is there an edging paint,paste, kote, etc... that is flexible enough to use on a chrome tanned purse? One that wont crack? I want to make a few purses with this sophiano (spelling?) leather I purchased and being chrome tanned, I don’t believe it will barnish.

It was really just an example but it would bring a unique look to projects.

How strong is artificial sinew? Is it dependible enough to use for hand stitched wallets? Is it strong enough for regular thread substitution or does it fray too much? Is friction an issue?

Do you have experience with a bunkhouse machine? I wonder how they compare to the cowboy that seems like all the other belt rollers on eBay. or even if they fit the same rollers.

I mean, I just don’t really know how to take your reply. Was it you that said that, or just you answering my question to him? If you have one for sale, I would like to know the price and what you have. Being on a public forum, I’m assuming everyones not getting a “buddy” price, yet I am also assuming a “buddy” price wouldn’t be advertised.

Does anybody know if there is metallic leather of good quality? The last experience the metallic seemed to have a type of rub off. Tandy is introducing some from Italy, but unsure of its quality.

I had seen those acrylic plates before, just wasn’t certain on how well they worked. I guess nothing will beat tooling, but they seem to not be very detailed.

Has anyone turned a rolling press for metal into a belt roller? It seems that they would give more pressure and are a lot cheaper than a press specifically for belts. There are a few patterns I want to continue to use and add some tooled designs too manually.

And possible heat too right? I know you’r bot supposed to pyro chrome tanned, but wondering if some of these manufacturers are set up for it.

High impact casting epoxy? That sounds like what I am looking for. I just want to be clear though, is this something you poor over the images you want, remove the images and it’s solidified enough for a good amount of pressure for a plate? Assuming a hand clicker press Would work, if not too big.

Mostly for ribbon taping on wallets and rolled edges on bags. All will be stitched over, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want something super strong and as permanent at tape film will get.

Does anybody know what the strongest double-sided tape is for leather? That Tandy stuff sucks and want it in bulk.

Are you using leather needles with a chisel point or rounded ones? I use rounded on most things, as I mostly stitch wallets.
