Men's Suspenders/braces
Boyd replied to sgmbona's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I like that! I've been looking for a design for suspenders! I think I found my inspiration! I never thought of using the belt loops like that! All I've been able to fins is flimsy clips or over heavy clips! Thanks for sharing!- 5 replies

Kris I see your post is almost a year old but if you still need the pattern I have it at home. Let me know and I'll send it to you. Boyd

Thanks guys. Glendon, I have that book, it is totaly awesome. I cant seem to find it at the moment, I think it's at work in the pile of leather books I shouldn't be reading while I'm at work. King's X I'm going to check out your facebook. What I was originaly looking for is something unique. I have a couple ideas and I will post them at some point if I succeed at them. If I don't here are my ideas and I hope that if someone does them that they post pictures. One is a tube that holds the glasses with a removable top. I know, simple but the picture in my head is cool. The other is a sleve kind of thing that attaches to the computer monitor and holds the glasses out at a slight angle, easy to grab and easy to place them back. P.S. Mike you are funny! An A.H. but funny!

That's awesome help Chris! Thanks. You are right about the room inbehind the covers. I checked when I went out to the bike. I never thought about forming the whole thing, I might try that next. First I’m going to try a semi-permanent cover (I’ll take pictures and post a new subject when I’m done). They won’t be anything fancy and I’ll probably use some scrap leather just to see how it turns out. When you glue the pieces on do you rough up the side covers first or does the glue stick without doing that? I assume you use contact cement in the photo. I live in the one place in Canada where we can ride all year round so I’ll probably wait until mid to late September before try the tank bra. Thanks again and you’ll hear more from me. Boyd

I saw somewhere, maybe here. Melt bees wax and use a toothbrush and rub the wax into the lace, both sides. Probably very time consuming though. Or, I got some stuff I haven't tried yet but it's bees wax based, I can't remember the last part of the name but the first part is "sno-" When I get home I'll get the last part of the name for you. Like I said I haven't tried it yet but it's suposed to be real good for protecting hiking boots and tough leather.

What braid did you use? That looks great! That's a great idea Chancey. How do you do it?
