  1. Looks good JayJay, like the tooling and color. That tether is really sharp. David

  3. Nice looking strap, good work. David
  4. Welcome to the forum. David
  5. Good job Chief, looks very nice. David
  6. I am not sure but I would clean it real well and try a piece where it won't be seen and see how the paint works. It all depends on what finish is on it, if it has wax on it that will have to come off. I have painted water based acrylic over saddle lac finish and then sprayed saddle lac over the paint. It came out looking fine but I really don't know how long it will last. Sorry for not being able to give you a definite answer but I have not been doing this long. David
  7. Nice work, looks good thanks for posting it. David
  8. Thanks, I used Fiebings light tan dye, neats foot oil, 3 or 4 light spray coats of Fiebings Saddle Lac, then light coats of water based acrylic paint for the rose and leaves, then a couple more light coats of saddle lac mostly over the painted part. David
  9. That is great looking, I would have loved to seen it dyed and antiqued I think it would have reqlly popped, but the customer rules. It is an excellent looking seat in black also. Good work David
  10. Good looking projects and good work on the photography David
  11. Made a rose guitar strap for a little girl. Let me know what you think. David Woo hoo, finally got a picture to post from an iPad, only took a year.
  12. Looks good Fred. Thanks for posting it. David
  13. Looks fine, one thing to remember is the leather will stretch some with use so don't make it too big. Welcome to the forum. David
  14. Yep I approve also on both counts. Seat looks really good on the bike. Good work. David
  15. I am going to do guitar straps, belts, chaps, probably some purses, and items like that. The thickest I would probably need would be less than 3/8" and most of the work would be lined guitar straps and belts. I really don't know what size thread and needle at this time. I am just getting started in the hobby phase but want the capability to move up to production runs down the road if everything goes well. My price range is 750 to 1250 give or take a little. I am staying away from the Internet sales besides what is here on the forum and these machines that I have found are at a leather company that I buy supplies from here in Amarillo. I will go back and see what else he has in the triple feed machines Thanks for the info. David
  16. Thanks for answering, I had looked in the pinned posts and could not find these specific numbers listed anywhere. You told me what I needed to know about them. I will keep looking. David
  17. Looks good except for what has already been mentioned. I like the jokes but like dirt clod said, somebody will be offended. I would base wether it stays or not based on your targeted market. If it is old guys and bikers like me it stays, if it is soccer moms and grandma I would ditch it. My 2 cents. David
  18. I am looking at buying a leather sewing machine. Mostly for belts, guitar straps, chaps, maybe a holster or sheath down the road. Three I am looking at are a singer 7-11, singer 331k105, and an Adler 37 -26. These are local machines that I can play with before i buy, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the capabilities on them and any recommendations on them. Thanks David
  19. The only ones I have are Barry King and they are great, I played with some Jeremiah Watt tools at a show and they are nice also. I agree with the first post all three are quality just pick what fits you best. David
