Looks good David

Looks good so far, how thick is the leather you are using and what is it. A pair of saddlebags is a winter project for me is why I am asking. But it sounds like you have the project plan laid out pretty well. Good luckDavid

Welcome to the forum what types of projects do you do? Anyway it is all on here somewhere and there are some really good crafts people here also as well as us new ones. David

Welcome aboard. I like the design on the first piece on the second piece it looks like you just started tooling and did not really have the layout in your head that you wanted. That is not a bad thing but it is cheaper to do it on paper until you get what you want and then start to carve. Use the holsters or put them up and then compare them to what you are doing six months to a year from now and you will be very surprised I think. Anyway welcome and good luck. David

The leather armor looks good and the bags look great. David

Randy the seat looks good did you fab your own pan and mount? I also like the color with the lace. Good work David

it is a bone folder which is a tool for folding the leather. Go to Tandy leather or another craft shop and get a book on basic leather work. For the sewing the best book I have found is the art of hand sewing leather by Al Stohlman. The way I think is easiest to learn is get a couple of cheap kits ie phone holder or something else small these have the holes punched and the thread and needles in the kit. Read the book and then refer back to it as you do the kits if you screw it up major cut the thread out and do it again until you like it. There are a lot of good ideas on the forum as mentioned above but the basics I like to have printed out where I can refer to as I go. Good luck but it is addictive once started. David

Adult area on Leatherworker.net

I would like to be added to the adult section also please. David -
What has been said above but I like to use a roller knife with a little or no downward pressure let the knife or razor blade do the work. All you do when you try to put pressure on it is either stretch the leather or cut crooked. David It gets easier with practice

Bodice Front Panel - Colored
David8386 replied to Blindspirit Leather's topic in Clothing, Jackets, Vests and Chaps
It looks very nice with the color against the black what type dye is the black and did you color over the black? I was going to a vinageroon project with a rose on it and try to air brush a little color on it. Anyway yours came out looking good. David -
I hope you are doing better I know kind of how you feel I have anxiety issues under pressure before but not anything like yours so I not saying I know exactly what is going on. What helped me with mine was a quick prayer and the realization of what was really happening( the anxiety attack) and move on from there. I have looked at some of your work and you are talented at what you create. Just surround yourself with your friends and work and keep your safe spots open and don't close them out which is what I used to do. I don't mean to sound preachy to you just letting you know people care. David

David8386 replied to BulletProof's topic in How Do I Do That?
Welcome best thing iimo is to get the books mentioned above and get a couple of Tandy kits and look at every post you can find that has anything to do with what you want to do. The bad thing is you will keep finding different things you want to try because there are a lot of people on this site that do really outstanding work. Again welcome to the site. -
Great looking work as always. Where would be the best place to find a seat pan. I want to try a seat but I have a dyna so a chopper pan would not work. Thank you David

Custom Tool Pouch And Sheath Combo
David8386 replied to Blazin's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Do you wet form over an object like a wood block? Or just use a bone folder? I have used a block for some bag ends but they did not have 90 degree corners. I still think that it came out good. I am still reading books and tutorials and have at least figured out that it is not quite as easy they make it look. David -
Page looks good only thing I noticed was the fine print on the banner that changes at the top was hard for me to read in white. I use a smart phone to look at Stuff online so the screen is a lot smaller. Other than that it looks really nice and the pictures of your work are really good!
