OP that all looks great man! Love the iphone case and wallet both!

So a friend of mine wanted me to make her a phone sheath after seeing my old one, just finished it up today, here it is. She wanted a pocket on the front. Also had to have a makers stamp made with my new logo a buddy made for me. BlackRiver Laser cut it for me works like a charm! Details: 4-5 oz leather for the main body. 2 oz kip leather for the pocket. Fiebings Mahogany airbrushed on with Fiebings Black airbrushed on for the sunburst effect (both the oil dye versions). Any comments/suggestions welcomed, still new and learning!

Cyberthrasher I love a good formula. Especially since I have a request from a friend to make her a device slip and I don't have one to make a pattern off of. So would it be safe to say: Device Width = 4 inches (making up numbers here) Device Depth = 1/2 inch Device Length = 7 inches Leather used = 4 oz Slip Pattern Width = 4 + 1/2 + 4/64 inches? Or double up (since total leather weight is double) to 4 + 1/2 + 8/64 inches?

Thanks! No worries very new too.... It is veg tan leather, 4 to 5 oz. I followed the YouTube video Nigel Armitage has up on making the iPhone slip just used different dimensions for my phone.... Resolene gives the leather protection against water, it is an acrylic so it basically fills in the pores. Lots of great discussions here about the use of it! I followed the advice and cut it in half with water for a light coat.... Excited I've got my first order request for another slip for a friend lol...she loved mine she wants one for her iPhone 5

Latest little project, a simple phone sheath for my Android phone. 5-6 oz leather. Fiebings Pro Mahogony oil Buffed then Buffed again with Zack's leather balm Glued up, holes punched with stitching iron, stitched with black waxed thread. Edges burnished with beeswax and slicker. Edge Coat painted on, more slicking. Resolene 50/50 light coat If this were going to a friend/customer would that be it? Or should it get one final treatment before it goes out? Any thought or critiques welcome.

LOL no worries Monica, the dog won't even look at the first attempts..... I like the look of the Mahaogony, rubbed it down with a damp paper towel after I applied it to lighten it up a good bit, wound up this color. I've got to set up my light tent tomorrow to get a better shot of this and the others....but am growing frustrated with the washing off of the eco flo stuff. Will try mahogany in the Fiebing oil dye and maybe their antique soon...

Hi forum members, First I have to say what a great resource this forum has been. I've learned a LOT and just enjoyed reading everything. So here is my first attempt at a finished holster, well actually first attempt I am willing to show anyone lol. The others were more like just hacks and practice at tooling/finishing/etc. I guess this is more like holster number 3, but the first I finished all the way. 8 oz leather, tooled, wet formed to pistol, Eco Flow Mahogany Gel Antique, Resolene finish It is for a Glock 19. I have a couple of tweaks I've added for the next one already, I don't like the pointy part at the top (under the trigger guard) that should have been rounded and I didn't leave enough room for a good combat grip. Plus I gave too much room in length for the 19 slide, about an inch too much so that will get whacked back. But it wears pretty well for just toting the 19 in the woods... Any comments or critique are welcome. I have several more I've started will get a better camera setup going too! Thanks!

I'm a total noob here, so take this with a grain of salt, but I used the USMC black recently in an experiment mixed with Lexol. First quick coat was raw USMC black just to get full coverage. Second coat was Lexol/USMC mixed well together (about 10 drops Lexol plus 5 drops USMC). Daubered it on right on top of the first coat. Let is soak in for 10-15 min and a quick buff and after the initial buff there is no black coming off, great looking black too.
