I found this Consew for sale not much info with it other then it works, it's industrial, sews up to 1/2" has forward and reverse. I have no clue about sewing machines. Any info would help. What thickness could I see with this? Can I make it a walking foot? Would it be good for making handbags?

The price of the awls is $70 shipped in the US. The X acto knives are 35 shipped in the US for wood ones and 45 for resin ones. If you mean the Starrett pin vise I purchase them from Amazin.

Showing off some of the tools I make. First is one of my awls with feature copper ferrule and slStarrett 162b pin vise. This one is made from curly anigre(and available if interested) I also make custom X acto knives. I use these knives daily in my shop and the nicer hardwood handle is kite comfortable and just plain looks better! Takes standard X acto blades.

Snow seal gives a nice matte finish. You could also make your own by mixing beeswax and neatsfoot oil.

I have a question regarding finishes like this. I prefer the look of the wax finish over the shiny resolene finish. I also noticed it gives the leather an almost "pull up" charecteristic when using this finish. My question is. Since it's a mixture between wax and nf oil is there any further conditioned needed for the leather? Oil before the wax/oil combo. Oil after wax/oil combo or is oiling no longer necessary since your using a mix of oil/wax. Also, is the oil/wax good as a finish just on its own? I should add, I'm referring to more the wax/oil combo you rub on then melt into the leather with a heat gun.

Walnut tool rack Tired of my tools being in drawers I wanted a way to keep them on my work table but I also wanted something nice to keep them in. I came up with this walnut tool rack. Made from rough cut, air dried Pennsylvania walnut. I will all the lumber myself in my workshop. The rack features 95 total holes, in 3 different sizes to handle a wide variety of storage options. Rack measures 3.75" tall 7" wide 18" long. There is foam bottom on the inside to give a nice soft bed for your tools to rest on and reduce noise when tooling as well as felt feet on the bottom. I use Antique Oil as my finish to give the wood a nice soft finish. The price of the rack will be $60.00 shipped within the U.S.

Does anybody oil first then dye? I've tried doing that and it seems to give me a more even coat when I apply my dye.

Finished up this knife today. Custom poured resin. Red white and blue

I had a request for a pony specifically made for wallets. This one is 12" long rails which are 6" high and as can be seen in the pictures the wallet can be positioned in a variety of ways.

The green and silver burl with ambonya burl caps knife had been sold.

Made another knife. This one is green and silver pearl with ambonya burl caps. Just like the rest this has an X-Acto knife as the "guts" I turn the handle on a lathe and and sanded to 3400 micro mesh then polished to a nice shine. One of a kind!

I was going through something's in my shop today and came across this faux antique glaze that I bought at lowes years ago. The antique part caught my eye so I grabbed a scrap piece of leather and thought I'd give it a try. Put a couple geo stamps on the leather quick then hit it with the glaze. There was no resist of any kind on the leather prior to applying the antique. I wanted to see the results on both the stamped area as well as how well it would dye just the straight leather. I let it dry a few hours then gave it a coat of straight resolene to see if it would smear, streak, lift off etc. it didn't do any of those things and looks pretty good to me anyways. Tomorrow I hope to try another test laying down some resist prior to applying the antique then coating it with a 50/50 water resolene to see those results. So far it seems to me like it works well and could be an alternative to traditional antiques with the bonus of being able to be purchased locally. Will update with more results as I have time to try them. If you have any other test you'd like to see with this let me know and I will try it out.

Blade are replaceable. It's essentially an X-acto knife glued inside the wood then turned on a lathe. The handle material is Boxelder burl pieces and alumilite resin. It's originally used as a blank for making pens buy works great for this application too.

Yep these are turned on a mini lathe.
