  1. Has anyone taken a look at that pattern generator? I'm going to be starting on a corset for myself in the next week or two and having a good pattern generator would be a huge time saver...
  2. These are gorgeous! My sister would die for the peacock work
  3. Yes, that's half the fun of this customer... seeing the models
  4. A photographer for fitness models has been commissioning various pieces of gladiator/steve reeves inspired costume pieces for his photo shoots.
  5. That's great! I had someone ask me for the same thing this year
  6. Well, the experiment was a bust, but I was using mostly Tandy products. I have a growing collection of Fiebings products, but they don't sell the Fiebings antique at Tandy, so I think I will have to start ordering online. I used their "block out" as the lacquer, which has never ever worked well, or consistently for me, so I'll have to get my hands on what you suggested, wyosheen or clear-lac.
  7. Thank you so much! I have all the tools I need, just didn't have the formula! I can't wait to try it.
  8. Can anyone offer some guidance as to how this beautiful contrasted look is achieved? I know getting the leather cased properly plays a large role in how dark the compressed areas are, but I've never been able to achieve such a contrasted look. His cuts and stamping are almost black on some of the work this gentleman does.
  9. Tandy just posted an old catalog picture yesterday on Facebook and relit the interest in the gypsies pattern. I don't suppose anyone ever found an old copy?
  10. Hi all - I've been a reader for awhile, but this is my first post. A gentleman recently approached me to make a sheath for a knife he had made for his grandson. I gave him a tentative yes, since I'd never made a sheath before, much less, one for a knife with such a thick handle. After many starts and stops, oops and do-overs, here it is! Hopefully he likes it.... -Lesley
  11. Absolutely beautiful. Let's see, my little girl is 20 months.. that leaves me a few years to skill up
