Colt Stitcher arrived and works great.
Looking forward to using it more.
Only complaint is that the knob and bolt get thread wrapped around them often.
I might remove them and make a leather belt to hold the clam shut.
Everything looks really nice with good stitching. I really like the passport wallet.
One thing I noticed is the snap on the tobacco pouch is smashed crooked.
The use of a shorter snap will prevent this.
I had the same problem at first because I was using a longer snap, switched to a line 20 short and it worked perfectly.
Here is a link to the ones that worked for me.
Looks really nice, did she love it?
I know what you mean, I made a small satchel and it took forever for all the hand stitching. Everytime somebody asks how much one would cost I cringe.
Thank you. I get them from many sources, still searching for the best one, but Ebay seems to have an abundance of decent ones.
Because everybody loves pictures, here is another:
I know this is a thread from a few months ago but I ran across the same issue and all I did was sand the area I intended to glue with a course piece of emery cloth. This seemed to fix my problem and held fine until I stitched.
I ordered some stuff from Springfield and I am almost certain they sent me the wrong color but it worked out fine.
The hides definitley show some imperfections but I am able to work around them with the small items I am making.
This stuff is wonderful to work with though, I already ordered some more.
