  5. Ryan, I contacted him about this machine already and he told me he had sold it. Should have maybe put something up to tell people. Maybe his sale didn't go thru. Ron
  6. So how much are you asking for the tools? LOL!!!!
  7. I have to agree with Misarins. I would not use a canvas. You would have to get a extremely light weight canvas to get the right thickness to get the job done and then there is a strength factor. Pigskin and lambskin is extremely thin and strong. This is what I use. Good Luck!
  8. I have an upholstery shop. Go to your local shop and buy a product called chip board. It is a little thicker than say, a cereal box. Cuts easily and you can write on it. This is what I use, and it is 26x38 inches. Gives you plenty of room. Shouldn't cost more than .75 to 1.00 @. But I do like the idea of plexi to see thru. Great idea JL
  9. Sorry to hear about your loss. I know what your going thru.....
  10. Thanks for the feedback. Still getting used to the knives. Do you think sanding the edges would help?
  11. Hey everyone. This is my first major leather project. Let me know what you think. I made a total of 8 identical Saddle Bags for the Flathead County Sheriff's Posse in Montana. I Used 9 oz Yellow Latigo leather for the bag and 4 oz yellow latigo for the gusset. Can't wait for the next project.
  12. I would like to see what this is all about....Let me in
  13. Thinking of purchasing a used Adler 105-64 for saddle and holster work. Do you think it has enough power for the task at hand? Thoughts?
  14. I have a opportunity to purchase an Adler 105-64 sewing machine at a fair market cost. I plan on doing saddle and heavy leather work. Do you folks think that this is a strong enough machine for what I am wanting to do? I have always liked the Cowboy machines and I know they will perform, Yet a little input would be great... Thanks!
  15. I have the perfect cardboard to use. I own an upholstery shop and we use a product to make our patterns. It's called chipboard. Most shops buy it by the 100 count. They are usually 30" x 48" in size and about 2-3 times the thickness of cereal boxes. easy to cut and really cheap. Maybe .75 cents @. Give that a try. Sorry If you were closer I'd just give you a few.
  16. Thanks Jack. I know all my friends will want one when I finish mine!!!
