    Introduction

Two Crow - That is a beautiful piece.
  2. Oscar: I am not sure I know what you mean. Could you please provide an example. I interpret pictures better than words. Thanks!
  3. Thanks Luke. I'm figuring this out as I do more of it.
  4. This is a new belt just completed before finishing. How can I improve my technique.
  5. Are There special tools you can use in doing small faces? I find the smallest Tandy Stylus is still too large for the very fine detail.
  6. My father is a retired minister. I did this for him as a Christmas Gift. I am not really happy with the faces but this is my first attempt at a piece of this type.

    4 distinct depths of view

That is beautiful. I have a long way to go.
  8. I am assuming you don't have the original shirt to work with. By segmenting and manipulating the segments I could improve the original, but it isn't perfect.
  9. Opagon - The cross is beautiful. I am sure your friend will cherish it.
  10. The workmanship is beautiful. I to am interested in your recipe for the resist.

    new work

I recently completed these. I have a long time doctor who collects chicken stuff. Our town had a veterans recognition cerimoney on Vetrans day. I won a $20.00 gift certificicate to the Outback in the raffel for veterans. I did the Kangaroo for the manager of the Outback.
  12. I am 62 and retired on disability. I have seizures in my left arm and leather work is good therapy for fine motor control. It also helps with my concentration. Depending on our schedule I work anywhere from 15 to 35 hours a week on my leather carving. I find it very rewarding.
  13. Welcome Skip. That is a neat shieth design. You make some beutiful knives.

    billfold

This is my most recent billfold.
  15. I recently finished these. I originaly put these in the show off section, but I had taken crummy pictures. These show the detail in the work. I have been back doing leather work since May after a 43 year break. I have never had any leasons and picked all that I know up from Al Stholman's figure carving books, the local Tandy dealer, and this forum. Any sugestions would be apreciated. Is this high enough quality to take into compotition? Should you dye/color work before entering competition? Are competitions organized and run through the leather working guilds or are there other sources? Are there any guilds or leather working organizations in the Cental Florida area?
  16. Robert - thanks for the picture. It does clarify how the buckle and keeper are mounted on the belt. This is a different style of belt than I have seen before. It is beutiful.

    Introduction

Welcome Masja. My grandfather imigrated to western Canada from Rotterdam in 1917. I was stationed in Germany in the early 70s and had a chance to visit Holland and meet some of my relatives. Holland was our favorite country in Europe. Your work is great and I look forward to seeing more.
  19. My son is in the national Guard and he is an avid Florida fan. This is a christmas present for him. He isn't interested in leather work so I can safely post it here.
  20. Beutiful work. I don't see how the buckle and keeper will work on the belt, could you please explain.
  21. These are my most recent projects. The belt buckle is for the University Of Central Florida for those who havn't heard of it.

    Introduction

    Thanks for the explenation.
  23. Check ebay. They have quite a few plastic templates for billfolds and belts. If you have patterns you can trace and a scanner you can scan the pattern and reduce or enlarge it as needed using MS paint or other photo or graphic software.
