  1. I'd like to know where the table in the original post is from.
  2. I had one that looked the same, the original selling dealer dated it to the mid 1960's.
  3. I really need to dump that vid, it's ancient. I went with 69 quite a few years ago. Much better results, and with properly tuned tension the durability is as good. Not as much thread exposed to the friction of the stick thus less stitching failure.
  4. Mike, Completely off topic, but you might want to consider using 69 thread for doing gloves. Just food for thought.
  5. I have had all my binders made by Tennessee Attachment. They customize the binder for the specific machine it will be used on and to the items to have the binding sewn to. When I had a problem with one of my binders, they corrected it without question. It's more expensive to go this route, but it's well worth it in the end. I know there are some other binder makers out there (Atlanta Attachment for example) but I have never done any business with them. Tennessee Attachment has always done a great job for me. Just my two cents.
  6. Installed many motors in the past. Most servo motors with a schronizer attached. Those need to be programmed and really are not a big deal. When the schronizer arrives for this motor I will install this arrangement. The programming looks a little less straight forward than some others, but I'm certain I'll figure it out. I just wanted to know if anyone has one of these motors and if so, how well they liked or disliked them.
  7. Yes, what's a real test? No high speed production here, just lots of slow detail work.
  8. I have the motor. A synchronizer is on the way. The plan is to put this motor on my Pfaff 438 and put it thru the paces to see how it does.
  9. These motors seem to be selling in the $260-280 range. The others I referenced are in the $110-150 range.
  10. Gregg, Are you stating this is just a "generic" motor with an ISM label? The little bit of research I've done seems to show that this particular model sells at a higher price than the group of motors that all seem to be alike with different names. I was under the impression (maybe mistakenly) that this was a better offering.
  11. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the ISM SV-71 motor. I just received one and am contemplating putting it into service but wanted to get some input from anyone that uses (or has used) this motor. Looking thru the manual the setup seems a bit convoluted, but that may just be my take on it. Welcome any feedback/reviews.
  12. Up for consideration is a Singer 143W3 single needle zig zag sewing machine. I have used this machine for two+ years and it sews like a champ (I moved up to a larger machine). Is complete, table, servo motor, two place thread stand, light and drawer. Asking $600 OBO.
  13. Jakob, It appears the issue is the part you are referencing should be held up in place by a small plate that screws into the base of arm. There is a notch that fits into a slot on a plate attached to the end of the arm and keeps the part you have referenced held in position. Here is how mine looks: notice how the piece circled in your pics is up and held securely on mine. If that part is "loose" it will create big problems. Hope this helps.
  14. I didn't either, but I spent more time than I care to think about searching for the instruction book, but couldn't find any downloads for it. No trouble getting the service and parts books however.
  15. Would anyone know where I could download a instruction book for the Pfaff 438. I have the service manual and parts list but cannot find a downloadable instruction manual. Thanks in advance.
  16. Patty, I'm located in Michigan also. send me a PM re who has your current machine (repair guy). I think i may have some input for you.
  17. That Seiko is a steal at that price. They are great machines, I have one and am very happy with it. It would be worth checking that one out.
